Stan... I'm going to be a bit cheeky and suggest an actual club.  I've looked at the table - and it's got to be:

Man City.

Why?  You've presumably worked with Psycho, from your Forest days.  You and he know what the other is about.  He has got Vassell, Dickov and Samaras up front.  They're going to win no prizes with that strike-force - as evidenced by the fact that they've only scored 6 times in 8 Premiership games.

The City fans are a fantastic bunch - they'll take you to their hearts, they're decent, funny, and love a bit of banter.

And finally, they sent us their favourite old boy last season - and The Goat helped us win the League One Championship.

Surely the Shrimpers should repay the compliment by suggesting our favourite old boy have a run out in Manchester...

Jobs a good'un, Stan.  Give Psycho a ring mate, you know it makes sense.

Matt

Kate Adie is also a lovely lady. Terrible taste in bed linen though and she can't cook a fried breakfast to save her life.

G'day (I'm getting in practice for Xmas!)

Just to repeat whats already been said, Don't be a tart & name & shame the spineless w@nkers who sent you these emails.

Anybody would think you were a whinging Pom!!

If you're in Melbourne or Sydney for the ashes let me know & we can have a Southend drink up. There's going to be a few of us there. Look out for the shirts on the first day of those tests.

Get your @rse back on here.

Wooooaahhhhh

Where did all this come from? Having been away from the board for a few days I come back to find a regular poster flouncing off in a huff and Stan Collymore posting more regularly than a Spread Eagle clique member.

Surely football is all about opinions. For me Stan was the greatest footballer to ever pull on a Shrimpers shirt. That of course would be a generational thing - my halcyon days of watching the team home (from the North Bank terraces) and away coincided with his time at the club. I will never forget the thrill of his ramapging through Division Two (in old money) defences and even if we have a Roman Abramovich waiting in the wings who buys the greatest players in the world I doubt the Stan days will ever be beaten for me.

However not everyone agrees, people too young to have experienced those days who have their own more recent hero's and those older than me who saw him play but hark back to a player from their youth. That's fine, one of the joys of supporting this club is the opportunity to have those types of debates either on here or (and more enjoyably for those of us who have a life offline

 ) over a few pints.

Slagging someone off with abusive emails over a difference of opinion is bang out of order and actually quite childish - I'd hope that this forum is above all that nonsense.

Quote[/b] (perth shrimper @ Oct. 20 2006,05:07)]Hi guys,

I've decided not to post on the site anymore due to some pretty strange goings on.

I've recieved a few personal e-mails from people on here telling me to 'f%&k off' - 'Your Australian, what the f%&k do you know you tw&t' - 'Stan is a legend, don't slag him off, just f%&k off'.
These were a little bit strange to recieve as you can imagine and to be honest i can't be bothered anymore.

I've had people mail me querying my 'commitment' as a fan, saying that i'm 'not qualified to comment' as i 'don't go to games' and i'm 'ignorant' about Stan Collymore. Another mail said the only reason i post here is to 'cause controversy'!!!!!!!
I am also a 'waste of space' too!!
I've had general hassle offline which i can't be bothered with. I'm not a sensitive bloke and i take online banter as a bit of harmless debate and fun like we all do.
Abusive mails to my home e-mail is another thing tho'

Some may say i shouldn't let others push me out.
My answer is why would i want to have online discussion with people who abuse me off line??

Despite this, all the best to you all.

I enjoyed the Shrimper pennant thing and i'm sure i'll keep in contact with a few exiles in the future.

Wow. The internet must be serious business for you.

Lets be honest, you'll be back.

Mike,

I'ts not coincidence at all,in fact when i decided to resume training, watch more games again and generally take more of an interest in the nuts and bolts of the game,i cant see how it would not have followed that i would be saying hello, and letting people know on the board my intent.in actual fact it was your disparaging comments on page 7 i think it was when i logged on which prompted my response, otherwise i probably would have said a quick hello(i have since 2003 logged on a few times) or not posted at all.If you are insinuating however that this is a cunning plan to drum up popular support, and hence turn favour on this board into mass marches upon Roots Hall or to Tilly or RM's offices then not only have you not read pretty much every post(from the start) i have made but you are suggesting that Steve Tilson,Ron Martin, and thousands of supporters are gullible to the extreme, and easily led. Now,they can answer for themselves but as for me like i said it is one thing to have banter and make a valid point and another entirely to make a veiled suggestion that i am a scheming tw&t.If that is what you are suggesting, then spit it out....

One more thing,in the first post, just to remind Mike,i clearly stated where my playing aims lie,and several other times suggested that some of the posts that were running away and putting 2 and 2 together thus making 5 were way off the mark for me and i am sure the football club.If you are going to make a point, make it so that it has content, rather than filling it with sarcastic sh!te...
