Quote[/b] (Slipperduke @ Oct. 20 2006,11:30)]Not as much as the absence of that Fish'n'Chip shop though.
Excellent report by Mr Craven on what sounded an interesting chat by Ronster.  Whether he can come through with it who knows, but I don't think any longer that people can doubt that he's actually trying.

Without wishing to hijack the report thread onto less important matters, the owner of the Fish House is very keen to have a representation at the new ground & as I've said before the fast food restaurant on the entrance plaza would suit me down to the ground, but we know it'll be plasticburgerland.  He's mentioned it in passing to me before but actually asked last Friday if I knew anyone in the supporters organisation.  He's, apparently, expressed an interest directly with the club about having something at the ground, but would like to talk to someone in the supporters club if possible.

It's probable that the trust may not have any advice to give him but I said I would pass his request on & this seemed the easiest way rather than setting up just another one message thread.  Is it possible that one of the higher echelon could at least make contact with him.

Thanks
Piers
Funnily enough we have been trying to get hold of him all week on another matter.
Now he want's to speak to us !!!!!!

We shall endeavour to contact him again, however I doubt if there is much we can do for him at present. He maybe best contacting Ron direct.

Thanks. Why he asked me I've no idea.

It's not as if I go in there before every game!

Or at 4.45pm on a Saturday for that matter.
I'm sure there would be return shuttle buses!

its just I don;t think there would be any shuttle buses to the ground after 7:30pm, leaving latecomers stranded.

Similarly, there may be pubs and bars at the ground to frequent after a match, but will the shuttle buses still be running after I've queued up to get my ticket for a forthcoming cup or away game, or stayed for a pint?

At Twickenham the bars in the stadium stay open for around 2 hours after matches so that there isn't a mad rush of 70k people for the exits and transport.  The shuttle buses back to Richmond go on for about 2.5 hrs after a match.

At Cardiff I'm sure the buses went on for a few hours after a game as well.

I'm sure if the demand is there the club will arrange buses to suit else people ain't gonna hang around and spend their cash.

End of Season DVD ETA? "Three to four weeks" which puts its release to about mid-to-late November ... just in time for Christmas!! (Now where's that post I wrote about two months ago?!)

With the mad scramble for tickets to Layer Road, and the awful facilities and views, I hope Col Ewe get their stadium soon. Think of taking 3,000 -4,000 there.
Cuckoo Farm plans were drawn up to only 10,000 capacity. At the moment, We get around 1,200 tickets? Do you really think they'd give us any more than 2,000 tickets?

Think about it. Roots Hall is just over 11,000 and we provide around 1,800-2,000. Col Ewe wouldn't want us taking anywhere near the 3,000 mark... and thats without even consulting the Police.

The Cuckoo Farm development wouldn't give us that many extra tickets at all
Disagree, would hope fro an end, so maybe in the region of 2,500.
An end stand is still not going to hold the same as a side stand if the ground capacity is only 10,000... Would make the ground look rather odd!

I asked Chris about that in the club shop yesterday and he didn't have a clue and they hadn't been told anything. I said to him it would be out in a few weeks just in time for X-mas ...

I wish they didn't make it SO obvious, though!!

Yes, if the end held 2,500 the ground would be square

The ends are 2,000 each and the sides 3,000 according to their draft plans.

Plans can be found by clicking this here link device

Even for them very unambitious...
