afc telford win again!!!

Attendances are down for us this season (credit crunch?), so it's a difficult one to predict. The fact that the admittance prices are the same as usual may help, plus the FA cup always attract glory hunters. Mrs Wellington Tim and I intend to get there very early (before 2pm) to make sure we get our usual seats.

Not been to an away game yet this season so it will be my first one. A few seasons back our FA cup crowds were always bigger than our league crowds, but that has all changed & we get much lower crowds for FA cup games now.

Admission price of only £10 for Adults will tempt quite a few of our fans that maybe would have given this a miss as well.

Tim and his fellow Telford fans ...

Thanks for your views / input on here .. its always good when opposition fans add to a debate rather than just sling Oozeing mud about ... though i guess some people can't help being SadOs

Anyway, enough Borient slating and onto my point ... do you know the proceedure for away fans on Saturday ?? is it literally cash on the turnstiles, or are we likely to have to queue up to get a ticket before queueing again to get in ??

If its the former i'd be tempted to get a ticket upon arrival, could mean an extra 20 minutes in the pub

Brilliant.. Cash on the gate, a terrace, a lively home crowd, all thats missing is smoking and a bloke selling nuts..

As stated, you pay on entry to the ground at the turnstile. The turnstiles are linked to a computer, however, and each entry is counted so the control room know exactly how many are in the ground. Also, each turnstile is a specific price i.e. one turnstile for full price ticket, one for concession, one for kids, one for season tickets. In this way, it is known how many people the turnstile operator has admitted and how much money the club has taken.

No fags or nuts either, I'm afraid.

Must say I'm getting a very good feeling about this club and the traditional ethics which appear to be enforced. Sounds like a cracking club.

Cambridge did field a reserve side I must mention though. Only 2 players who started their previous League game started at Telford.

Quite right. Cambridge put out a poor side. No need for you to worry, I don't expect anything other than a Southend win on Saturday.. That's not important, though, a good match and a good atmosphere is what counts

cambridge are 4th in the blue square premier unlike redbridge who play two divsions below telford this could go to a replay me thinks

That'll do for me, being a pessimistic so and so this has got cup shock written all over it. Half first team missing Mildenhall back in goal etc. I think I'll get my concentrating on the league, football cliche in early.

you can only beat whats in front of you and i hasten to add you made changes for a game against a side five Division below you and lost. not just 23 places. They may have put out some who were reserve players but not the kids and many were seasoned BSP players with league experience and they are full time too dont forget

cambridge game

I know a Cambridge fan who went to the game last night... apparently 4-3 doesn't tell half of the story! Telford should have won something like 5-1!!! Unbeaten at home all season and we have 4 loan players out with no Barney or Freedman and its looking like an extremely difficult afternoon in prospect...

we gave away a silly penalty 10 min from time and they added a third with the last kick of the game we hit the post twice and the bar and we made five changes too. i cant see us winning but i replay would be good fro bothe clubs and if you set the price reasonably a combined gate of 9-10,000 is a nice pay day for both clubs.

Good patch of form AFC Telford are enjoying. All the ingredients for a shock.:darkcloud:

Hopefully the scouting network, and club representatives that assess our cup opponents, (trying my hardest to strike the fear of God into Telford's fans on here ;) ) will have done their reports thoroughly and compiled a useful dossier for Messrs Tilson and Brush. (Blimey. I'm nearly convincing myself 'ere:stunned:) and we'll pick the best 11 from our comprehensive squad, full of depth and experience ( note the lack of mention of the four loan players and 2 injured stikers that'll be missing :whistling: ) and we'll make exactly the right choice in player ability and commitment from the whole host of options we've got available to us, to start this match with eleven players of the right attitude to see us through this potential banana skin. (There that's the official line. :) )

(Psst I'm on a win double Accrington and AFC Telford, that'll cover the cost of the fuel to Shropshire, just in case!!!!!! lol)

Just pray that we dont adopt a strange formation and unusual tactics like we did last season at Oxford. (The most boring game of the season). Theres bound to be shocks on saturday and as the forecast at this moment is for wet weather then we dont have to think back more than a few days to know those conditions dont suit our normal game.
