Payment is made to a third party.

So maybe the third party are the ones at fault here. SUFC will have "sold" the debt to the third party company and if the supporters cancel the Direct debit won't it hurt the third party company and not the club?

Maybe the club haven't been told what supporters haven't paid.

I am sure they have, just not sure when.

Im sure when you enter a ticket, or swipe a season card at the turnstille the following happens:

a) Green light appears for a adult ticket / season card
B) Red light appears for a child, season citizen, student

(i might be wrong on the colour combinations here)

Generally the turnstille has a steward behind it, should they not be looking out for this type thing?!

Red light only would be if you swipe something not recognised.

Stewards can spot the very young and the very old, it's the student-type person that needs to be checked.

I had the non payment problem myself, i renewed at the earliest opportunity last year i think it was in March and the club said that my d/d would stay in place from last season. Anyway come september when they still hadnt taken a payment i got a little worried and phones the club who didnt seem that worried about it and said theyd sort it. Anyway October and November passed without them taking a payment so I actually went into the ticket office and gave them the cash there and then, they seemed more than a little suprised at my honesty....

I have had this problem - when I talked to the ticket office about the fact that they hadn't taken anything and offered to pay it in full there and then, they said not to bother and that they would re-set up the direct debit and take it in two payments.
So far they haven't bothered to do this...

Terrible way to operate a business as several people indeed have said!

Thinking about it they must have something in place as i got a phone call the other month telling me I hadnt paid for 5 month, but the question that needs answering is why had it taken the club that long to contact me? Have we that many fan in arrears on the cards? there was no mention of what would happen if payment wasnt made or a new payment plan in palce!

Ok I took my debit card out and paid the bird so am fully paid up to date (I think)

But I do believe more need to be in place and caught before it gets out of hand

Could it be the club have been paid by the third party a large sum at the start of the season in lieu of tickets sold so the club don't give a fig if people subsequently cancel their direct debits ?

No couldnt see that happening, and if that was the case the DD company would be much more on the ball with regards to non payments ........ It can only be the club at fault here as we have a an issue like this at work

This was my point. Although you'd think the third party company would be a lot more on the ball to check. But it's possible I think and as none of us really know for certain...

They soon will if the third party start charging back the unpaid direct debits to the club.

On the other hand we have no money for them to take back. :whistling:
