A message for Scriven : Man Utd Tickets

I heard a comment in the ticket office that 45 companies had been turned down after requesting Exec Boxes.

Given that we all now know what happens when a big team comes to town, can you imagine what will happen when we get Arsenal at home in the next round?

After picking up my Col.U tickets spoke to someone who works at the club who gave me this breakdown.

6700 ST (5500 real ST holders, the rest corporate)
1900 Man.U
3200 General

The 1,200 corporate season tickets is an interesting one. This would account for the discrepancies in reports of season ticket sales.

I seem to recall in the dim and distant past people being moved in the East Stand to make way for corporate hospitality. Was that when they constructed the hospitality boxes? Anyhow, well done the club's marketing department - 1,200 corporate hospitality packages is fantastic selling.

This is what I was told - whether this corporate figure includes comp tickets, giveaways such as RBS, Echo etc not sure.

No. The boxes were constructed some time ago. (1993?) What you are referring to is a section of the yellows that was turned into a platinium club or something. STHs were indeed moved to accomodate ...

Thats just absurd!

The genuine fan is made to suffer and miss out then!

Where are these type of fans who have these complimentary tickets on the cold tuesday night games in the dead of winter, eg the Shrewsbury game in the snow when Roots Hall was deserted!

In the good old days it was called the Blues Lounge and for use by Season Ticket holders only.It was a very decent place to have a beer, and a young lad came around with the team sheetbefore kick off. So much better than the dungeon we now have in the bowels of the East Stand. But you cant argue with the extra revenue the new corporate facility brings I suppose, just a little sad that even Southend have gone along that route.
