Ah I didnt know that.

But do you really believe that some of the climate change has got something to do with solar forcing, from the C4 programme, or was all of that programme just made up to fill in an hour?

Truthfuly, i simply don't know , contributing factors are so varied , its impossible to say . The programme. Most likley a punch back , no claims have been layed that theres not enough unbiased research. However programmes liek that didnt help. It was widely critised by members of teh IPCC (some of whom appeared in the programme) for very sloppy representation of data.

I'd just not take a chance with something like this and err on teh side of caution. An Econcomie can be rebuilt a biospehere can't

Actually thats the point that has been made on the program, its not funded by pertroleum firms and thats just all the "greens" say to any contradictory evidence.

There are plenty of scientists disproving the theories but as soon as they do they are branded as being paid off by Industry. Therefore they arent able to go as public as often with the data as it wrecks their careers and real funding.

You can choose to believe either side of the story, for every document you provide I could provide a counter document and you could do the same.

Ive made my mind up and am just grateful its getting a bit warmer and not colder :) (as it will one day !)

Yess , funny that who gains most from hoaxing the public on this issue and i'd fogotten all those wealthy "green enviromentist" assiting say the Bush administration *cough*

I must confess that was my original though untill i spoken and read about how the academia process works. The point you raise there is very true from those tied into commercial research. Not so from purly academic.
Belif i hope not that would suggest a faith ;) A reading of the facts all of them avaliable to you and your understanding . I'd like to see teh links to counter documents if you have any ? However teh ones if seen and those shown on the Channel 4 programme are countered quite elquently by the New scientist link .

How about neither unless they could produce an indepth well researched body of work. Critcied by a independant peer group that explained as well as possible their views .

Plus teh two sterotypes you mentioned above are generaly as ignorant as each other ;)

Jam Man has it bang on.. Global warmimg (sorry climate change in case it gets colder) is a crock of ****e.. and who is to say that it being a tad warmer is abad thing anyway.. OOhh drought, rising seas levels, starving Africans, hurricanes.. how do they know.. It could all be really rather pleasent... the U.K could have the best Wine industry in the world, Seaside towns would undergo a renaisance, the palm trees in Hamlet Court Road may actually survive.. etc etc

Im sure hundreds of years ago there were plenty of convincing scientific reports saying the world was flat.

The bottom line is that global warming by CO2 emissions or any other human intervention is just a theory and whilst theres plenty of evidence to the contrary Im very doubtful.

What does annoy me is the media. Last year for example there were daily reports of reservoirs and how they were only 10% full and how we were all on the edge of doom, this year they are all full and no one mentions it...

Only if the evidence is particulary damning or teh original argument full of holes other then that it can become a debate of evidence ?!?

Actually no , 100 years ago there was only the flat earth society, Galelio's theroy i think (and please someone correct me) was prominant around 1413 ?? I think as mentioned before it was only 1 theory and as you stae below the media have their own agendas and ideas on what to report . Who owns most of teh media at present in this country ? What are thier political socila persuasions ??

Same reason whole scale movement from one energy source to another has not occured before . Plus there are poissbly even worse dangers from the by products of nulcear reactors (unless we can produce a cold fussion type reactor). Economic problems , discussions . Saftey . We could reduce the Co2 but then blow ourselves to kingdom come or worse

But if the co2 problem is that serious we should get those new nuke power plants built asap..Not faff around putting 40 quid on flights.. We can worry about the waste in a few decades once the enviroment has stabalised.. Who knows in a hundred years that stuff could be useful for something! .. Or maybe its because the governemnt is more concerned about using the current 'green' frenzy to loot some cash rather than large scale investment ot do anythin about it..Maybe they like to talk 'green' but havnt got the balls to do some thing useful like legislate against packaging as opposed to fining some old biddy for putting her yougurt carton in the wrong coloured bag on a Wednesday instead of a Thursday..
