69p a year - Are the Royal Family value for money?

Is the Royal Family value for money

shoot the lot, and turn thier posessions over to the masses. set communes up on thier land.....interbred wasters

So this thread is the monarchy vs family sized pack of fake Frazzles?

Yes.

If it were real Frazzles I think most people would agree it would be no contest and they would be up against a wall like the Romanovs.

But that 69p for every man woman and child is not enough, there has been a reserve set up over the last 20 years which Queenie has been dipping into (last year to the tune of 11 million) and there are expectations that the amount given to the Queen will be increased substantially.
Sir Alan Reid, the Keeper of the Privy Purse — or treasurer to the royal household — said travel costs rose because fewer aircraft were available from the Royal Air Force, meaning that members of the royal family needed to charter commercial aircraft for overseas visits, often at short notice.

As for the income they produce, I am unsure of the number of visitors who come to visit because of the family, I would imagine more come to see the buildings, and that may well increase if they were actually allowed inside the bloody places !

Personally, I feel they should have to tighten their belts when the rest of the nation has to, but as that may lead to some lesser mortals facing unemployment is suppose there are positives to be gained from them maintaining full households.

Saving money is the new spending.

If I can make the move from Frazzles to Waitrose Bacon Fries then so can the queen.

Would like to know how much she brought in in return through tourism, merchandise etc.

69p seems fair to me compared to how much say asylum seekers, dole cheats, tax dogers, northern tramps etc etc are costing us every year.

I would say that in terms of tourism, our main draw is our history & heritage, and we're generally seen as one of the best destinations in europe for this. But why do tourists choose us over other european countries which have just as rich a history? I would argue that is in a large part down to the Royal Family, firstly because we have one, and secondly our royal family seems to have a far higher profile than those countries who also still have royalty.

They could however be making far more money for us especially as we all pay for them. So here are some suggestions.

*Buckingham Palace is already open to the public, but imagine how much more popular it would be if the Royals were in residence and kept behind one-way glass, big brother style.

*Phillip could be kept in a booth at the end and tourists pay £10 to go in and be insulted, I'm sure they'd love it and they could get a commemorative t-shirt that says "Prince Phillip called me a ........" (obviously Harry could take over when Phillip dies)

*Merchandising, there's so much more that could be done, for example Toilet Rolls with pictures of the Royals on for all the anti-monarchists, so they could wipe their arse with the royal family!

Any other idea's?

I'd like them to release a record, enter a team into the Blue Square division, and go to Wimpys once in a while

Morning Chaps!

I would argue if the royals were lined up against a wall and shot, this would bring in more tourism. And think of the merchandising... Photos of you up against the blood stained, bullet ridden wall, a plaster cast 'Fergie death mask', maybe even a few sneaky pictures of the dead queens vag.

It's a cheap tat goldmine.

Kind Regards

I tried making this argument as part of my French A Level Oral exam, but despite my mastery of the language at the time, I was unable to successfully explain the concept of a 'Fergie Death Mask' in the gallic tongue. Incidentally, the first part of this sentence is true, and I got an A.
