3D-Tv

This will almost certainly be an opening offer from Sky who will then start charging once enough people are using the service.
So unless you are prepaired to pay for it which personally I am not it may not be worth spending much cash to get the channels for free.....

I think it's hugely down to there simply not being enough regular content to start charging...

Whoever, said about the Ps3 is close.

I believe the PS4 is due out toward the end 2012, with the main focus being the 3D market.

With regards to the current 3d, its not bad by any means, but i think there is still massive room for improvement. In that repect i will not be investing for a couple of years, until we are a few generations into the forray.

With regards to the 3D tv without glasses, i have also read somthing about this, as its to do with a 3rd layer being placed over the screen. The drawback is however that its viewing angle is massivly decreased, as compared to glasses.

Haven't heard or read anything about the release of the PS4... Last time I heard anything, and this was about a year back, was that representatives from both Sony and Microsoft admitted that the fourth generation consolves were years away.

The PS3 will, however, have 3D gaming in March when Killzone 3 is released.

Exactly, don't know about X-Box but the PS4 won't be seen until at least 2014, following previous release patterns.

Pretty sure that the recent PS3 system update said something to do with 3D support, unfortunately I can't see many people having 3D TV's by March, or rushing out to get them.

Maybe when the November 2011 CoD:MW3D hits the shops...

Davros that will be Toshiba's latest development, which has quite a few drawbacks at the moment. However at the time of my post there was nothing in the public domain about the development.

Yesterday I brought one from Makro for £1000 with a blu-ray player and 3 glasses, the 3D is quite good but the tv without 3D is amazing, it has internet tv which is facebook and games ect...
overall it isn't worth the £3000 they started at, but I think the price will go down and it will be worth it!

I can't see the attraction of 3D. It seems to me that 2D TV and cinema gives full depth perception anyway. 3D always looks fake, like the old mini theatre my gran owned as a child where you had little sliding cardboard pieces of scenery that came on from different depths. It looks tacked on. In addition, the colour reduces by around 25%. Add to that the hassle of wearing the silly glasses which get dirty so easily and the sheer amount of money you have to spend and I can't see why anyone would bother. The phrase 'Emperor's new clothes' springs to mind.

Until they can do it without glasses it will never be mainstream.

No chance Im going to put on glasses every time I want to watch a movie. 3D makes kids films fun but its a gimmick, the motion blurring is a long way from wanting to watch a lot of it at home.
