2nd Test

Vaughans currenly enjoying his tea in the 90's......him and KP put on 130 odd in that session, and given the slow overs there should be plenty more overs to plunder tonight (light permitting).

elsewhere, Essex's bunch of bits and pieces players are being urinated on from a great height by Notts.

Century for Vaughan. England 250/2. Still over 30 overs to go today - we can be well over 350 at the close.

You really are looking for bad rep today. Slagging off star wars, then giving Michael Vaughan the kiss of death. 250/2 went to 254/3 with your assistance.

KP 189no. Eng 498-6 at lunch. Thank you very much, whack on another hundred or so, bowl 'em out for a innings defeat (and a series draw at worst correct?)

Plunkers looked good as well.. crazy that when he really came through he was seen as a natural all-rounder in the mould of Flintoff. He has a few shots but no where near the talent to be anything other than a useful tail-ender a la Giles or even Harmison

I was there on Saturday as part of a stag weekend (1st cricket match I've ever been to - I'm not exactly a cricket buff) but even I could see it was a phenominal team performance, particularly by Pietersen & Sidebottom.

I think I actually upset my mate by a) pi55ing off to the pub when the stadium decided that after crowd trouble on Friday they would shut the bars 2 until 4 and then b) by watching the L2 playoff final at the Betfair stand for an hour! Have to say the atmosphere of the crowd in the last hour was also a bit surreal, I likened it to a very drunk football crowd. All our party absolutely lost it when the beer snake of plastic glasses came our way (it must have been about 50m long), also there was another stag party of guys dressed as comedy nurses and the father of the groom was a dead-ringer for a famous murderous doctor, cue some rather bad-taste choruses of "One Harold Shipman" and other various chants!

It's pretty standard fare at cricket grounds to close the bar for a while. The idea is to try and sober everyone up, plus to get the bars back on an even kilter.

Sounds like you had a good day though mate :)
