Really? Not yet in my opinion, there is time on his side and hopefully he'll get more of a chance to sign and to start scoring goals next season. He's not overtaken Lenny yet who was able to offer the full range.

Not quite. It was always the final ball that let Lenny down. Which is why he wasn't a regular for Shef U.

Not that it matters Lenny plays a different role than Dru. Lenny is at his best chasing back and Dru is at his best driving at the heart of the oppos defence so they could easily play in the same team.

I feel sure one goal for Dru could easily lead to 10 next season.

One of the best things to see at Roots Hall. It won't be long into the new season when he blasts the ball in the net on the end of one of those fantastic driving runs.

Yes the first goal v MK set Theo on his way to a hat trick. People will look back at the score and forget the game didn't come alive until Dru's run and shot. Was even more impressive for an 18 year old was the way he one the ball in the first place.

I've learnt over the years to not go over the top and look to far ahead with young talent. That applies to local football and cricket as well as the professional game. But a combination of Dru and old age means I'm letting my guard slip and rather looking forward to next season.

Two other former Southend players to consider ..........

Nicky Bailey - I understand he is looking for a dream move

and

J.C.R. - he is available.

In terms of the mooted League 1 midfielder I reckon Nicky Law would be a good shout. Remember him being the best player on the pitch at RH a couple of seasons ago playing for Bradford when on loan from Rangers. Been released from Bradford this week and at 30 a good age and foil for Dru. Can play wide midfield if required too.
