1st Anniversary

Just looking at todays date, I realised that today is the 1st Anniversary of getting to our first cup final. I can't believe that it has been a year! I can remember all of that day like it was yesterday!

What was peoples favourite moment of the day...

I have got so many memories of the day but one that always makes me chuckle must have been getting to the Bridge (...That should have been a wall!) and it was just Southend fans with scaves/flags/banners hanging out of the car windows, banging on the horns constantly making loads of noise!

Up The Shrimpers!

Nice flag at Cheltenham by the way, puts my "Hawkwell Blues" one in the shade though mine is unique as it's homemade!

wearing an LDV polo shirt in the office today in memory of our first ever final

Just walking out into the stand and seeing the arena with thousands of southend fans, a sea of blue with flags waving. the noise, the smell, the sight, everything sent shivers down the spine, still does just thinking about it now. amazed we're gonna do it again, leaving this hellhole Belgium for england on wednesday, and the party starts there and then!!

LDV LDV LDV!!!

I wasn't at Cheltenham!?

Getting into the stadium at 11:30 (we had a box) and walking out onto the balcony to see the stadium before it filled up. Awesome.

We trashed the contents of 2 boxes hospitality beers. The actual game was, I must admit, a bit of a blur.

I think just walking into the seating area, seeing the ground pan out in all its glory, looking up to my right and seeing a sea of blue...

Most excited i've been in my adult life

!! And then the travesty of an offside goal after 5 minutes brought everything crashing back down to earth

Walking up the steps to see the inside of the mill stad for the first time, simply amazing.

That, and stopping at the M4 reading services at about 8am to find thousands of other shrimpers completely packing out the place

Walking to the top of the stairs with Seb Weetabix and taking in the atmosphere of the occasion and the thousands of blue shorts.

Like many of the other replies, just being there was great. I walked around like a grinning idiot for most of the day, it really was special.:)

Yeah just being there was unbelievable! Walking up to the ground was when it started to sink in and the whole buzz around the place was amazing.

You like men in shorts, do you?

I'd presumed he was adopting a Geordie accent!

Sitting next to Badger during ther game. The highpoint of my life. As well as anyone else's that's done the same.

Walking up the stairs and out onto the Millenium Stadium. I must have stood at the top of the stairs for 5/10 minutes before moving. I had shivers down my spine, hairs standing up on the back of my neck and goosebumps. Something I will never forget.

Then it has to be the national anthem. I had a tear in my eye seeing 20,000 Southend fans signing the national anthem and our heros out on the pitch singing it.

I can't wait for the 10th again.

My jaw dropped when I first got within view of the stadium. The goosebumps started when I got inside and I couldn't explain whether that was the cold or something else.

Never really expected to be going there again so soon, but the experience this time will be as if it is my first visit and our first final ever!
