We have got 16 days left on our Norton's Anti-virus software and keep getting the prompt for renewing it.

Before i renew it, i wondered if i could get some feedback if possible on other PC Security software packages??

I have been recomended The Shield Deluxe but not sure about it?

Could always format your hard drive and reinstall Windows? Just make sure all the important stuff is saved onto a memory stick or CD though!

we've got an external 250gig hard drive with everything backed up on it but I really don't think Dave wants to go through the hassle of formating and reinstalling everything thats on this computer.

do you use AVG ? I have heard about it but it just seems that if it is free it can't be that good?

Its limited but it's got anti-virus and anti-spyware its reccomended as one of the best, if you want the all-singing all dancing version it costs £40.

AVG is the bizz. I've just given my guvnor's laptop to my brother-in-law who's a high-tec wizard and he put AVG on it for him.The laptop was running super-slow thanks to someone that put,you guessed it,Norton on there.

Guvnor was chuffed when we gave it back.

all about avg, you barely notice it but it does the job. only ever had virus problems when had norton on my comp

I've been using it for years & my friend who builds & repairs computers uses it & recommends it! I got rid of Norton ok & it doesn't cause me any probs. AOL is the real problem to get shot of!!

I'm free (for you)and work absolutely perfectly

Just got rid off Virgin PC Guard and downloaded AVG, PC Guard has a problem with a trojan that it cant get rid off that causes the net to slow down.

How strange just as I opened this thread I got an email saying I have to renew my account with Norton. The free one sounds the better option. I shall download when Norton runs out.

Out of these 2 options...AVG Anti-Virus & AVG Internet Security, i take it that AVG Internet Security is the one to download?
