great list!!

Again, this wouldn't be my top 15, more those that have shaped me over the years and opened up new horizons:

Faith No More - Angel Dust
REM - Out Of Time
Massive Attack - Blue Lines
Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life
Pixies - Doolittle
The Smiths - Hatful of Hollow
British Sea Power - The Decline of British Sea Power
Billy Bragg - Don't Try This at Home
Oasis - Definitely Maybe
Bjork - Homogenic
Red Hot Chili Peppers - BloodSugarSexMagik
Weezer - Weezer
Dusty Springfield - Dusty in Memphis
The Beatles - Help
Nirvana - Nevermind

Some of these wouldn't get anywhere near my all time top 15 now, but they all helped me get there.

Incidentally, I have left out best ofs and compilations. Had I not, then NME's 1993 'Singles of the Year' would had to have made it. Arrested Development, PJ Harvey, Belly, Elastica, Smashing Pumpkins, Sugar and Leftfield/Lydon were all on that little beauty.

In fact, I'm off to play it now.

I'm tempted to just list the work of the Collins, but will diversify my offering:

Depeched Mode - 'Music for the Masses'
The Smiths - 'Meat is Murder'
Front 242 - 'Tyranny for You'
Bruce Springsteen - 'Tunnel of Love'
Led Zeppelin - 'Led Zeppelin II'
Garth Brooks - 'No Fences'
AC/DC - 'Back in Black'
Genesis - 'Invisible Touch'
The Bee Gees (and various artists) - 'Saturday Night Fever' (OST)
The Who - 'Tommy'
Creedence Clearwater Revival - 'Chronicle Vol I'
NWA - 'Straight Outta Compton'
Nine Inch Nails - 'The Downward Spiral'
Sarah McLachlan - 'Mirrorball'
Elvis Presley - 'From Elvis in Memphis'

Mine in no particular order. Bit more recent than most of you, but I'm only young!

1. Paramore - RIOT!
2. Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine
3. Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane
4. Jamiroquai - Travelling Without Moving
5. Stephen Lynch - A Little Bit Special
6. Jason Mraz - We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things
7. Adele - 19
8. Oasis - What's The Story (Morning Glory)

10. Foo Fighters - The Colour And The Shape
11. Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
12. Lighthouse Family - Ocean Drive
13. James Morrison - Undiscovered
14. Lady Gaga - The Fame

Age shouldn't really be an issue. I'm only 21 but have been most influenced by what my parents used to lisen to when I was a kid stuff like The Stones, Hendrix, BB King, Cat Stevens, The Byrds etc.

I've always felt quite lucky to have been brought up in a house where David Bowie* and The Jam LPs were played a helluva lot. That was hugely influential to me.

There are lots of gems in my Mum's vinyl collection such as Blondie, The Smiths and a fantastic old Motown compilation that I still love listening to when I'm back on the Island.

*Note to canveyshrimper - I found the programme from the Serious Moonlight Tour at Mum's the other day!
