100 things we won't miss about Nicky Bailey

23169200.jpg

This is him as a youngster..

We wont miss his goals from midfield... or will we.
Lets face it hes gone now, he came out and said he wanted to leave which wasn't the best thing to do but hes gone now. Ron put him on the transfer list so we cant keep blaming Bailey. In my opinion this is just a plan from Ron to get respect which has backfired, now we have the money and we must look forward.

ps the way he always dived pi55ed me off

I'm gutted he's moving after a season but the only loyalty in football is with the fans.

We're the only ones who remember the past decades and know we're the only ones who will be there in future decades.

I'm disappointed with him that's he stamped his feet and that he's waited until after the start of the season to do it but he's moving on to better things and good luck to him.

I would have no problem with him if he'd gone with a bit of class, instead he threw his rattle out the stadium.

Plus, anyone who thinks this is Ron's doing is deluded. As an employer if someone came to you asking for double their wages when they were already on a fair whack and hadn't improved the business' situation by twice amount (I maybe could have accepted this demand had we gone up and got the extra £1.7m we would get in the Championship)

Anyway good luck to the fella, let's move on, players will always come and go.

Dreams can become nightmares all too easily.

I won't miss his lack of loyalty, tact, diplomacy, self importance, MTBD awkwardness - good luck at Charlton & I hope your injury won't take long to clear up eh!? Cup tie him.

Firstly I don’t have a problem and secondly you are not my mate.
The supporters have been 100% behind him because he is a good player. If he had been **** they would have booed him off the pitch and you wouldn’t be bothered about him leaving.

He played on Saturday, he didn’t play last night – big deal. Why should he be loyal? If he had been rubbish the club would have dumped him – like they did with Maher and Black. Im not slagging them off for that but it works both ways - especially when he has been put on the transfer list without asking.
Maybe Ron has messed up, just like he has with Clarke. He needs to realise Southend United can't draw players to it like Real Madrid can, and perhaps you should view things from a real world perspective and realise not everyone loves this club as much as the fans do.

But you have got a problem as you are throwing red rep at anyone who dares to have a different opinion to yourself. And "mate", as you know, is a common expression and does not indicate that we are friends (which considering we have never met is no surprise!)

Let’s just say he engineered the move, by not signing a new and improved contract he had stuck two fingers up to the club, said he wanted more money then says its not about the money.
Toys came out the pram last Saturday so good old uncle RON had to have a chat to him before the kick off.

If he thought that SUFC was going to let him walk away on free in a couple of years time he was truly mistaken.
We have lost two many players that held out on a contract so RON had no opposition but to sell the spoilt ginger pratt. (sorry to all gingers that are not pratts)

I hope the wheels fall off his car on the way to Charlton.

What are these nuts doing on my desk.

This reminds me of the barry fry saying in the Echo how much he loves the club, only to walk to the station the next day and find out he had signed for the brum.

Bailey good bye good riddens

On the bright side who are we going to sign

As I see it, Ron only put him on the transfer list because he was being greedy. After his success last season he was probably looking for his next 'dream move'.

He's a big loss but Macca's not a lot worse than him and it sounds like Ron might give Tilly some money to buy a new central midfielder.

Ron Martin is to blame for his knee-jerk reaction in putting Bailey on the transfer list instead of negotiating with his agent. I don't care if they asked for 1oo,ooo quid a week-you say no and make an offer. That's how it works, Ron! If we are only prepared to pay peanuts you know what we will get! Of course I am not suggesting we should be paying silly money but we must pay the 'going rate'. The failure to sign Mulgrew is a case in point.

You mean by being put on the transfer list when he didn’t ask to be? Then when someone comes in for him, as he is on the list, everyone wonders why he wants to leave.
At the end of the day, the bloke needs to do the best for himself but because he did well for us last year people can't accept it.

I don’t see many posts slating the club off for the way they dumped Maher after his outstanding years of service.

I obviously don’t know all the facts, and I doubt if anyone on here does, but if the Club had made him a decent offer to try and encourage him to stay in the first place, he might not be leaving, and its great for Ron to come out and say “we only want players here who really want to play for Southend” but if you offered most of them a big pay rise and the chance to play at a higher level, they would be off like a shot, and I wouldn’t blame them.

Its time some of you people woke up to reality.

Well said...100% in agreement with this. The club didn't need to offer him an extended deal yet, they chose to , he turned it down, the club put him on the transfer list..Of course clubs will come in for him, and of course he will leave..

What the hell is all the bitching about!!

He had ages to go on his current contract, why offer him one so soon...Why should he not stick 2 fingers up at the offer???

I dont like any top players who leave.. Eastwood , Gower, Bailey.. I hope they all fail miserably and regret leaving.. not very mature I know but bothered, its football **** em.. Players like Paynter etc I really want to do well .. again no logic to it thats just the way it is...
I think you might get your wish on all three SARF.

well if a player has a good season you might and some clubs do, offer an improved deal.
this we did.

do you support southend?
is you brain in the wash?

you offer deals before the contract is up to keep the player,
This relevant as most people behind the scenes knew after the donny game he wanted out and he has gone.

With luck we can get a good midfielder in before Saturday

Backfired though didn't it...I think Ron made a big mistake putting him on the transfer list, just cos Bailey didn't accept the deal there and then...jesus, Martin could have done what every other chairman does, and haggle, play the game...but oh no, Ron decides to dump Bailey on the transfer list...that tells Bailey and his agent one thing!! Of course Bailey is then going to want to go!!

Yes I do support Southend. I am not posting on here every 5 minutes moaning about this, that or the other... in fact, this is probably the first time I have said anything against Ron...I was quite happy to see how things pan out!!

Is my brain in the wash...yes it must be if I am even bothering to reply to your drivel!!

Bailey had ages left on his contract..not 2 weeks or some very short period!

I would love to have Maher back right now. At least he would have worn his heart on his sleeve and given his all for the club. He's twice the man Bailey will ever be and quite frankly Bailey isnt fit to lick King Kev's books.
