1 week to FF-day

With a maximum of one week till we hear whether Fossetts Farm is a goer or not, just interested to hear whether people think we will get it or not and how much longer the decision will be

PS. Know there is a seperate forum but..

I have no rational reason to think it will go either way, but after decades of disapointment over new stadium plans I just can't feel positive. I so badly want to, and can't bare the thought of what the future might hold if it gets turned down. It seemed so unfair after getting the green light from the councils that this effing medling government had to stick its oar in just to make sure none of us were silly enough to think we're capable of making our own decisions about our own area.

Does anyone know if there is an appeal process if it gets turned down? Or is it possible RM has a plan B ready just in case? Can't think what it could be but he's proved himself a shrewd chap up to now..

I just dont understand what is achieved by a beaurecratic department 50 miles to our west possibly overiding a decision made by local people

Its all about setting precedents. Central Government will take into consideration the benefit to the local community through a combination of the inspectorate's report and the development's conformity in the wider context of the local and regional planning guidance.

I posted this on the FF forum the other day:-

If it is rejected, as far as I can tell the decision can only be reviewed if it is successfully challenged in the High Court because of a legal error.

The Inspectorates decision is FINAL but the developer can change the plans and make a new application to the Council!

In other words start the whole process over again

Can any planning experts out there confirm this?

I am not a planning expert , but what you have described is exactly what happened with my garage application (which was refused  ). If RM gets the stadium through I am thinking of using him as a consultant next time round - I'm sure he won't mind :)

Don't know if this has any bearing on the expected outcome , but Boots in Southend High Street reported a marked increase in sales of razors this week
