Official Match Thread Hartlepool vs Southend United at Victoria Park

The team line up is: Bentley, White, Prosser, Phillips, Coker, Atkinson, Laird, Leonard, Straker, Corr, Eastwood. Same as the Plymouth game.

What a difference a Plymouth at home makes.

Last seasons visit of Plymouth was probably the worst point of the season for me (I did miss AFC Wimbledon at home to be fair) and for me was the straw that broke the camels back. The side that night put in one of the most spineless displays I have ever seen. We were literally out fought in...

    Predict Saturday's starting line-up

I reckon it'll be Bentley White Phillips Prosser Coker Leonard Atkinson Laird Straker Corr Eastwood So who thinks Reid, Bennett, Clifford, Forte, Charlie Lee and all those kids Brown likes to give a chance to will play?

    Question Most cards this season

Having watched last night's game, my money is on Mr Laird to top the list....wonderful scything tackles, aggression (even in a friendly)......is he the new Kevin Maher.....granted, at the moment, without the constant berating of referees?
  6. Team for first game of the season?

What would your team be for the first game of the season? I would go for: Bentley White Phillips Prosser Coker Leonard Laird Atkinson Straker Eastwood Corr

    Braintree v Southend tonight

So Phil Brown has said that the starting line up will be Bentley White, Cresswell, Barker, Coker (T) Hurst, Laird, Scott (T), Straker Eastwood, Hemmings (T)
  8. Who will brown release/retain

Just wondering who you feel brown will offer new contracts to seeing the likes of Bentley, laird, Leonard, corr all out of contract

Pre-Match Thread Southend United v Bristol Rovers

I would like to see how a team that excludes loan players gets on. Smith (or Bentley) - happy with either Clohessey, Philips, Cresswell & Leonard (has played left back before) Hurst, Laird, Spillane, Bilel Eastwood, Tomlin Madness perhaps .......... but at least we would know how our own...

A Bit of Fun Phil Brown to choose who talks to the press after games

Chris Phillips ‏@CJPhillips198249s Phil Brown has also decided he chooses who we talk to after games now. So only allowed to chat with Marc Laird tonight @sufcrootshall I can't help but think that's a bit over the top.

Finish with a whimper or a BANG!

? What is it to be for the final stretch of the season? We can't win anything by playing safe: so now lets try and get some goals and entertain. We have 4 very good (for this division) strikers and we may as well have them all on the pitch together. We may concede a few (we are anyway) BUT we...
  12. We need Tomlin and Laird to start on saturday...

I think it will make a big difference! Oh, and wheres Tammy?
  13. Scott walks the 92

How do we turn round this slump in form ?

We have had such a dramatic drop in form that I am seriously worried that this season could be another wash out. We had that fantastic run but the wheels seem to have come off spectacularly. Also the injury list now looks so bad that I don't see how we can plug the gaps. There are so many teams...

    Midfield and our promotion challenge

Promotion depends on how Luggy deals with our midfield over the next month - 6 weeks. Mkandawire and Laird made all the difference and without them or players like them we are just not good enough. We need at least one decent replacement asap. If no-one comes in, we will fall too far...
