Adam Barrett will play 300th match for Southend in the playoffs

Enough of this doom and gloom. Barrett, if he is selected, will play his 300th match for the Shrimpers against Stevenage. He becomes the 16th Shrimper to do it. I hope this gets appreciated and applauded this week. We need to move on and focus on Stevenage now.

    Destiny

We will go up today. Everything points to it. Brown's new fitness regime which makes us one of the fittest teams in the league at the this stage of the season. The depth of squad means that the squad players are just as good as the first XI and are ready replacements if necessary, giving us an...

The Day before the Day !!!!

I can do this as it is Friday for me. Slight disappointment that I won't be there is overcome massively by building excitement and nervousness. The beauty of being here is a 10pm ko for me and in the current warm weather around 24-25 degrees that time of night. I will be in a bar. I suspect the...
  5. Manager of the month

No surprise really but Brown is up for manager of the month and according to today's Echo Barrett is up for player of the month.

    Bolger, what a player!

Think back early this season, Luton away ironically. Most would say that guy wasn't worth a penny and shouldn't play for us again and now look at him! The change in his game is nothing short of fantastic, admittedly super Adam Barrett has helped his progress and confidence but hats must go off...

    Season Update so far

Hi All, To celebrate a redesign (though not quite complete yet), here's a quick summary of what those who have voted think about the season so far... Players of the Season: 1. Adam Barrett, with an average rating of 7.55 (though only 3 starts and 1 sub appearance) 2. David Worrall, with an...
  9. Barrett - retire? Or one more season?

Judging by the last two games, there looks to be legs left in the old boy. Two fantastic performances in 4 days.. Maybe we should persuade him to stay and have ONE last season with his home town team? What do you think?

    Barrett or JBW ?

Who would you start against Bury at CB instead of Prosser ?
  13. Hope to see

Adam Barrett if Luke Prosser does not make the game due to his head injury . Williams does not inspire me with confdence the way he plays he gets in a right fluster when facing an attacker .Where as Barrett has a an air of authority at the back . Sadly I doubt this will happen but hears hoping .
  14. the great Lee Barnard mystery...

lets face it we are ***** going forward and love BBBC as I do I actually think hes the problem ...... no craft, skill or mobility. BUT I cannot understand the Barnard situation ..... I did see him start a game at RH once this season and he looked fine. He is proven CCC player and proven...

Question Is Barrett another Ron Signing to Increase Ticket Sales

As Barrett has spent more time in the stands and warming the bench since he signed a la Barnard and of course Freddy and has since decided to retire, I am begining to wonder whether maybe he was a Ron signing rather than Browns, what do you think?

  19. Adam Barrett - the right time take over as Player Manager?

I've been given this a lot of thought this morning. There is no doubt that we are now at the business end of the season. Yes, we are still in contention for promotion sitting in fifth place. However, performances have been far from convincing and you get the feeling that we might now struggle...
