I wonder how many players will think “is it worth losing half of my summer holidays to play in a play off final?” Back for pre season 27 June? June 1st is far too late for the final.

Ends on the 5th First round on knockouts on Sat 10th
Semis Tues 14th
Final sat 17th. no need for it to be at Wembley hold it at a decent sized ground with good transport links geographically In the middle of the 2 finalists.

Aren't players contracts up end of May???

Makes it very difficult for the teams in the play-offs to prepare for 25/26 season - especially the finalists who won't know what league they're playing in until June.

I think players contracts run until June 30th but loans usually end about May

I think thats right for EFL clubs but I thought the main consensus was National League clubs contracts run until end of May. Which was one of the reasons we was so far behind everyone else in terms of recruitment last year because we didn't come out of the embargo until mid July??

I can certainly agree that there is no need for the venue to be Wembley.

Lots of clubs rip up there pitch at the end of the season but I would hope that there would be at least one football ground that would could host a match around the middle of May.

There we are then - play at a ground where either the team is away that weekend or on a Sunday say if the team has played on a Saturday at the ground. Plenty of good venues to consider. Villa Park, Derby County for example.
