Sorry for putting this on here and now on its own thread, but bearing in mind where we were this time last season, I just thought it needed as wide an audience on here as possible, especially with this latest development.

On reflection, without the council and COSU's commitment to make our sale happen and being able to apply the leverage on the Martins to complete the transaction, this could have easily been us in July '24:

I hope if there is any help our fanbase or The Trust can offer we do so, as Wrexham and York fans did for us last season.

I don’t really understand what the issue is here. It was reported in early-June that Panjab Warriors had completed the takeover. Would that not suggest that sale/transfer of shares was agreed/completed at that time? I can’t understand how that’s now in jeopardy.

Their owner is playing silly buggers and not signing the documents. Remind you of anyone?

I've emailed them and Sheff Wed trust today to offer our support.

As you quite rightly said, the deal was agreed, but the owner has refused to complete the agreed deal.

The statement from Panjab warriors earlier this week may clarify for you:

I heard about this last night, Club shop staff haven't been paid which is very worrying for the people concerned, can we do something?
Im happy to put in a collection.
Let's do something please, we have been there, club shop staff worrying if they can pay their mortgage is shocking.
If we can do something for them that would be great.

Whittingham sounds like a right scumbag. That’s terrible. We know the anxiety of it all far too well.

Hope they get some good news soon.

Yes, I would certainly contribute to such a collection. Shrimpers need shrimps, after all.

Punjab Warriors ?!? Christ bet as soon as fans heard that silly name alarm bells must be ringing!
They going to turn Morecambe into a punjab fighting pit Roman Colosseum style and the winner gets a madras dinner? 🥘

I mean nothing against Morecambe at all and wish them the best but a part of me hopes the national league treat them with the same contempt that they did us and the NL are not seen to be bias as we all suspect they are

Wages have not been paid and the owner can't pay them. Panjab Warriors have the money and want to pay but don't own the club. All sounds very familiar. I've just seen that their Board has given the current owner until 4pm to transfer ownership to Panjab Warriors, otherwise they will put the club into Administration.

I think they're the good guys, mate.
