I don’t actually think the Francillette rumour was ever posted or speculated on by anyone in the know, or close to the club if I remember correctly. So there’s a good chance we were never actually in for him unless anyone knows anything a bit more concrete?

A few of us believe we should be in for anyone with the first name Ludwig.

I’m not against loans at all. Golding, Pepple, Brunt, Neal, Lopata, Kanu etc. were all great players who 100% improved us and would’ve probably never been here if not for the loan market (Lopata aside). If you’re relying on them too heavily, it becomes an issue, as was the case when Bim was recalled. But if we get a decent squad together in its own right and then supplement it with good loan signings who would otherwise be out of reach, I’m all for it.

We conceded 8 goals across the playoff run. With multiple mistakes from him. Unfortunately can't get away with that. Yes he scored a couple of goals but I'd rather he did his first job better to be honest

I was hopeful we’d get him but appears Col Ewe only have 3 centre backs on the books at the moment, one of whom is Goodliffe. So unless they sign another couple at least, it seems unlikely unfortunately.

Maybe @Colchester and proud! can confirm?

George Alexander is a name that has been doing the rounds for sure.

As for Ludwig Francillette, I've only seen it said in jest on here and a few have ran away with it as a credible rumour. Let's hope it is as he looks the sort of CB we need.

I think he was in a few reports and who we should get in etc, few saying they want him in and now he’s been released so people putting 2+2 together but would love him in, be perfect as the centre of the 3

I said a while back I think the overall priority is a centre centre back. and i think that decision is massive. whoever plays middle centre back is so important to how we play with and without the ball. we need to go all out. I'd Gubbins to get a go there because it's such a vital position for us

We will be playing flat back 4 like we did in 2nd half of the season.
