New Signing Sam Austin Signs

He started as a right back. He was then moved forward to right wing back and right winger. He's also been used as a inside right and in midfield. Quite handy to have a very versatile player.
I wonder what specific role we have in mind for him, if any. You’d think GSM has his thumbprint on most of those roles you list as his primary positions. Sounds a decent signing and, as you say, versatility in a smallish squad will be very handy.

The lesson is stats can only back up any theory. Not be the basis of any argument......Especially when it comes to football players.

In fact football is always best judged with your own eyes. Stats are for lying, slimy politicians and NHS mangers to hide behind.
In fact football is always best judged with your own eyes. Quite right.
I was at Meadow Lane, sitting in the home stand, the evening County destroyed us. Sam Austin was an integral part of probably the best team to play in the National League. He’s a damn good player, and the club have done exceptionally well to sign him.
It would be nice if he could be reunited at RH with the scorer of the other two goals that night - Langstaffe.

He would have surely had other options in the EFL, the fact he chose to come here and we can afford him speaks volumes. Buzzing!
He definitely had other offers and it was 50\50 getting it over the line, luckily his agent played with JD at Walsall which will have helped, p!us our recent displays and takeover and plans for the future are a positive draw as is kevs management.

This could be the bridge replacement I've been dreaming of. Not worried about his goal stats, if he can defend reasonably well and more importantly sling a cross that passes the first blade of grass we could be onto a winner

Management team is delighted. They had excellent reports on him and targeted him early, but it took a lot of work to get it over the line. Huge well done to all involved, and hopefully a lesson that silence doesn't mean nothing is happening.
