Yeah I don’t think it’s the foregone conclusion some think it is. We have no idea on terms, which plays a huge factor. If we’ve offered a decent 2 year deal with a promotion wage increase, performance incentives and a release clause, and Crawley have offered a 1 year deal on the same money and no bonuses, there’s a tough decision for him to make.I think we may have sent a counter offer to Cashman, i'm sure he would've signed for Crawley by now if he we hadn't.
Ah. Probably be announced shortly in that case!Think he did a medical with them over the weekend.
Oh no
God help us if that's the source.
We should play Bromely and Franchise off against each other. See what the best they can offer and maybe end up with more than we expected.so received a text just now from a good mate who sits in the West - apparently MK have offered £60K for Gus but Bromley are also sniffing around.
No idea how he knows but not the sort to lie to me
I was suspicious as soon as you said you had a "good mate".must be true then!
lolI was suspicious as soon as you said you had a "good mate".
We might be willing to pay 40k, FGR, Carlisle or York maybe 200khow much would you pay for a NL striker that just scored 17 goals in a season Plus also had a few assists as well.
Yes I’m afraid many clubs use data, probably most, so perversely the real golden nuggets we can get within our budget are the ones where the data says no and JS/Kev say yes. They are our secret sauce not data. This to me is where the scouting team and data analysts earn their corn. We don’t have lots of cash like say York or FGR. We aren’t in the market for a relatively low risk known quantity like a Vardy / Langstaff at this time, as great as that would be. Finding another GSM / Cardwell from step below who are not obvious on everyone’s radar, pay a nominal fee and can step up that season or the next, improve our team and be an asset with resale value. Any of us could look at players under say 25, check who has scored / assisted high numbers in the league below and advise to sign them as a hot prospect.
