Wembley Commiserations Thread

TrueBlue

⭐️
Not all of us can go to Wembley for various reasons, some might be work related or financial and many other different reasons.

In my case I can’t go as I’m not well enough and it’s one of the most heartbreaking and frustrating experiences in my life, I have or should I say had a match ticket and all that but health has to come first in my case.

So I thought I would start this thread so that other fans who can’t go can share why and maybe make it a little easier that they are not alone in not being there and that it’s not the end of the world.

I live in Spain and can't travel back, for health reasons.
Had problems for the past year and spent many weeks in hospital. Although, am recovering and steadily getting stronger, it's still too soon for me.
Gutted, but take consolation in that I've still managed to watch every minute of every game this season - thanks DAZN.
Am proud to be a Shrimper.

although a Wonderful wedding in Olivera near Barcelona, we are now in Sitges with family, many of whom would have made it
Think this is the first major final I have ever missed and still trying to come to terms with it, also looks where I am that the steam radio may be my only recourse
Been reading every thread avidly when I can and can’t believe what fellow shrimpers have had to go through to get there
Huge commiserations to all us sufferers who can’t be there, especially those with current poor health, speedy recovery to you all, helped by an early viewing of the league

2 fixture list
Up the Blues !

No I don’t deserve anything mate, I am just like any other Southend fan.
One thing the zone has taught me over the years is that no fan is superior to another, yes you can have some who are more well known in the community but that does not make them a better person, far from it.

We in this thread are all in the same boat and it’s about sharing some camaraderie and cheering the blues on from wherever we are in the world!

Oh and @Wickford Blue don’t have too many extra beers for me… it won’t be enough and I would not want you to miss the game passed out in the toilets 🤣🤣🤣

Hope you have a great day Sunday mate 🍻

Hopefully we will be back next year getting into league 1 ( if you can’t dream what’s the point😀)

Much as I might suffer, I am willing to help Wickford Blue in the consumption of fine ales in due deference to True Blue

A old poster on SZ who went by the name of CS Cockles unfortunately won't be able to make it.

Due to ill health, he now gets around in a mobility scooter (you will see him in town sometimes with the Southend flag on the back of it) so won't be able to attend the boy.

He was also a bit concerned about his tag as he needs to be indoors by 7pm so all in all he is going to have to watch it from his flat.

Here's to CS Cockles, and a brighter future than he has had thrown at him the past few years.

Good to hear that's he's back on the scooter because the last time i saw him it had a squeaky wheel and he was with his carer.

God bless CS Cockles.

My folks might have come but with Wembley Park out of action their mobility is an issue. I shall be hobbling on my busted ankle the extra distance..

Just to add, having trouble moving about and want to get to the game then “dial-a-ride” will be available on the day to take anyone with health issues. No excises people
Make the day a never forgettable event.

Mate that is so sad to read. Home and away for all these years and days like sunday are to reward the likes of those that have done the hard yards over the years. Gutted that you in particular cant make it. Wish you well mate and hope the lads to the business so we can see you in L2 grounds next season
