Red Shirts at Wembley - now confirmed

I rarely buy a shirt, especially as. I have been away from Southend for so long up until this season and only have a couple of blue home shirts. I thought I would have to wear blue.

Then I suddenly remembered that I still have a bag of my late brother’s old Southend merch, including a very natty tie!! He had Down syndrome and always prided himself in wearing the correct colour shirt to listen to the matches on BBC Essex.

So I went delving as I guess a lot of us have in the last couple of days. And lo and behold, I found this blaze of red. sponsored by Progressive Printing. It is a medium and fortunately not a Macron medium so it is only tight, rather than uncomfortably tight. I may eat salad only for the next few days so it is a bit more comfortable but I will come to the match with a memory of Stephen as well.

Nice one Jo. :Thumbs up:

what a surprise I found in my Southend box, a choice of 2 and a Southend Scarf from the 2005 League 2 Playoff final, my lucky scarf! What year was United Artists?

1995/96, according to this website

Also on the Club’s Wikipedia page, in the Section entitled Club identity, there is a year by year list of kit manufacturers and front of shirt sponsors. so we can all go look it up and wallow in various shades of fashion guilt or more importantly, fond memories of matches and players.

Couldn't be a more fitting tribute to your Brother. Wear with pride!

Goodness I don't have anything red I don't think! Got a pair of Nikes in red so that'll have to do, otherwise it's this years home shirt for me. Maybe I can find a red hoodie or something in my wardrobe.

I think this years home shirt would be totally acceptable, with maybe some form of red added to the look. I think from a distance Oldham will be a sea of blue, and the shrimpers will have a have a maroon look with a blend of dark blue and red
