Maybe that will affect the attendance, due to some fans going to Rochdale not being able to go to 2 games in 24 hrs?.
And IF the club are able to organise another live link screen at Roots Hall for the game, the same thing may apply?

You are not getting what I mean . I know that he has waited 20 years but it seems in the last couple of months it seems to be rushed through as if it is 'do it quick and get it out the way' . Kevin deserves a bumper gate but I fear it wont .

Yes, not the best choice of date for this in hindsight. Surely the club must have been aware of this when they organised it? Probably would've been better later in the summer during pre-season.

Yes I agree, got to be rearranged given the play offs. Mahers focus will be on the Plays Offs

Maybe combine it with a pre season friendly - testimonial kick off at 1pm with a first team friendly at say ko 4:30. Should put more bums on seats and boost food and drink sales

Play it in the close season, summer evening, people missing the football, take it away from this season entirely.

Otherwise it will be a non event if we win or lose the rochdale game tbh. And it deserves to be good.

Preseason on a Friday night under lights , Southend v Spurs XI , yes Ange will still be there, so two Aussies making good friendship , so we can get some decent loanees from them, plus you know you all love a Friday night under lights ,good crowd , food and beer sales good and shirt sales also ,good way to have a testimonial for Maher

It has to be moved. You can't expect fans to pay out a load of money on the Thursday for the playoff, then go to this the next day.

Also, if we lose, people won't be in the mood to attend. It's just one of those things. Off-season is the perfect time.

Just had a look at booked tickets. There aren't many fans attending, which is really sad for Kev and slightly embarrassing too.

I feel like a proper media push and a good run up to it being in the off-season would be better.

I can't see that happening though, as they just announced the confirmed players for the event for next week on the website.

Bearly 500 tickets sold looking at it. Really surprised this hasn't been re-scheduled.

Not a fitting turnout for the man. But not surprising given what's unfolding.
