My son, @OverseasshrimperJr is waiting on his application process to be completed to go into the Royal Marines. He also plays rugby, so was overjoyed at that result. His dream is to play in games like this.

My dad was a shrimper from Southend and managed to Join the Navy I think at a rather early age, may have been economical with the truth!

He also liked to earn a few bob s by singing on the pier and capping off the performance by jumping in !

Went on to become a Royal Marine and fought from HMS Glory aircraft carrier. So we also got to live in Portsmpouth and Chatham as thye big ship came into port. Whenever he could he would take me off to Southend to see family and on to the game

He then decided as Chief petty Officer to continue on for another 3 years fighting i9n the Korean wa

I've stopped of in York on the way up, and its currently brassing my monikes off.
The met office is saying for tomorrow, sunshine, and 11 Celsius.

Oh, and the met office has also predicted a Southend Win for tomorrow.
