Request from our Police Football Liaison Officer

From what I saw I thought the stewards dealt with it very well. Shepherded the over excited kids back towards the stands without aggressive force and applied common sense by understanding it was a good natured mistake by youngsters, not an aggressive threatening one.
There was a good number of stewards and police around that could have dealt easily with anything less well intentioned.
A well managed situation is what occurred to me.

I must be getting old. A few lads must have been 16 years old got on the pitch, jigged about and took selfies and went back in the crowd. Stewards and police let them. My thought was silly billies and that it might have been me 55 years ago. No menace, no thuggery, didn’t spoil the team walking round the pitch. Sometimes we need to loosen up a bit.
Exactly, look at the scenes at Wrexham and Liverpool where thousands went on the pitch

Yeah I thought they was very good, some were even joining in with the chanting, no aggression towards anyone which is what usually causes more trouble, the kids who ran on the pitch do t really bother me to be honest, they was off as quick as they went on
