Question Vaping in the Ground - allowed?

Is it allowed? I see so many people doing it and never see a steward deal with it.
Ditto and its awful when it is blown in your direction.
In the West you can up the top outside the back if you want a smoke or Vape so its not as if you cant.
I really do wish they would clamp down on it when in your seats
But, i have also noticed recently people bringing in their beer from the bar and sitting down to drink while watching the game and this is in front if the stewards too who dont say anything - although to be fair most if the stewards are kids

Drinking doesn't "waft" on to another person (with most folks) where as vaping or smoking does impinge on other individuals around them.
It would be a good day, imo, if drinks could be responsibly supped in the stands however vaping/fags are too invasive and devisive.
The stewards have a very diplomatic and often difficult job to attempt a balance at for minimum wage.

Yeah, saw a steward having a polite chat with a couple of guys drinking their pints at the back of the West during the Fylde game. Definitely didn't look like they were in trouble for doing it.

It’s that bloody Cricko again? :Hilarious:

Seriously as a smoker I can’t see why people can’t wait. As a side note in HK there are ashtrays on top of dustbins in public everywhere. Graffiti and vandalism are things that just don’t exist here. The only time the rubbish gets trashed is by the wild boar. Pretty much daily in my village despite the communal bins being emptied every day.

Totally agree, the vaping and smoking is a no,no but as long as people are responsible with the drinking then I don’t really seem the harm although is it not a FA rule?

When e-cigs first became available in the UK back in 2008 they were classed as a Smoking Cessation Devise (they still are and recommended by most medical professionals and the NHS), so you were allowed to use them inside the stadium.

A couple of years later (2010?) vaping was added to the smoking ban and added to Ticket conditions of sale and the stadium ground relegations. So they are now banned except in designated smoking areas like the back of the West Stand

especially the wooden East?
I would think that vaping in the East stand especially would be the height of stupidity.
Anyone with even the barest of knowledge of the history of football or even a glimmer of common sense should be aware of the danger of this.
I suppose as part of getting a safety certificate the club must have worked out how long it takes to evacuate various parts of the ground, and the East in particular.

You do realise that vaping is completely non combustible.

The chances of someone leaving a vape behind that then decides to explode is miniscule.

Bearing in mind what happened at Bradford, people continued to smoke in the east stand for years.

Your right the danger of fire from vaping or smoke bombs is way over played in the 21st century.

Worth reminding that the owner of Bradford city in 1985 had had 9 previous fires in premises he was associated with. There has always been a big question about the discarded cigarette theory.....It was often overused in fire investigation back then, as it was far easier than saying Arson or even 'doughtfull'. Then having to investigate and explain yourself.

Having said all that the East is just above being condemned.
