''SUPER STEVE ARNOLD IN GOOAAAALLLL''.

You're only going to improve your game under the team of Benno, Maher and Currie, with Colly popping his head in once in a while, the confidence and support these guys must provide to their players, i'd love to play for them. And thats half the battle won right there.
Even more so for keepers as theyve either got it or they havent.

…….now you just think, that’s Arnies!….we used to think, oh s hit!

Arnold is playing extremely well at present but we don’t need the pathetic cheap jibes at the previous occupant who also played extremely well but over a much longer period, latterly without much defence in front of him.—John White ! Say no more !

One of the reasons so many keepers are rooted to the line is that coming for crosses regularly means you make more "errors" and of course everyone loves to point at those. It takes courage to dominate the box like Arnold does. What never, of course, gets factored in is how many goals would follow from the keeper not coming and that leading to x number of opposition headers finding the target. Far more than will come from dropping or missing the occasional cross I would contend.

Would have Arnold every day of the week including in L1. The ridiculous thing is he is costing way less than the Ox. It seems in football you don't necessarily get what you pay for (happily in this case)

Arnold’s history hints at him being a confidence keeper. Hopefully he can ride the current feel good factor and wave of confidence for a good few more years. He’s currently looking like our best keeper signing since Mildenhall.
He certainly looks like a confidence keeper. He has made a few mistakes, but this difference between this season and last season was that some of these haven't cost us.

He made a mistake when we were 2-0 up against Yeovil which brought them back into the game. We still went onto win that game, while last season it would have been the difference between points and no points. Easier to overcome and forget mistakes when it doesn't affect the result.

He looked unbeatable on the highlights and the chant is infectious, whoever came up with that is a genius!

I know we are winning games but if Arnold keeps up this form he has been showing the last few weeks he will be somewhere very close to POTY this season.

Arnold is a shoe in for POTY.

I can’t remember the last time I walked away from a football match, and have been impressed by a goalkeeping performance as much as I was on Tuesday night.

You could take the saves out of the performance if you wish, it was his command of his 18 yard box.

You don’t see it much on the highlights, but his starting position on the deep and wide free kicks that Bromley had, was exceptional. He was holding a high line, sometimes 7/8 yards from goal, meaning the free kick taker was having to put his delivery further away from goal, reducing the threat they carried.

He misjudged one, he ever so slightly juggled one, and punch one. Everything else was claimed so comfortably, and when you have a goalkeeper who is prepared to do that, it makes defenders lives so much easier, knowing your keeper will come and claim the ball meaning you don’t have to stick your head in.

He is a football league goalkeeper, and my mate and I debated after the game, how he ranks with keepers since Flahavan. I use him, as he was number 1 for a long time when I started watching.

I thought Bentley would play top flight football, and even sniff around the England squad at one stage when he moved on from us. But I don’t think I ever saw a dominant, commanding performance from him as I did Arnold on Tuesday night.

The keeper from our past who I liken him to is Neil Freeman.

Again a keeper who when he was playing for us, you could see he was capable of playing at a higher level and he did.

Freeman had, dare I say it, more agility, but Arnie edges him on command of the box. But the one thing they both share(d) is the complete confidence of the defenders playing in front of them.

The last similarity is the shape of their drop kicks, both had/have a right footed fade on them, so when kicking from the South Bank end the coaches have to watch out if they get it wrong!

Everything about Arnies performance was MOM for me and as a lot of people are saying, he is their choice for POTY this year, he is mine.
