Echo News Southend United boss Mark Molesley provides embargo update

Ultimately MM isn't responsible for the embargo and is powerless to sort that out; that's Ron's job so it makes no sense to give MM a hard time on that with difficult questions when he can do nothing about it. The 'update' thing is just to fill column inches anyway. To be honest the headline is a bit misleading.

MM is responsible for what happens on the pitch. That's where CP can put his foot down a bit, and often does so in his post-match analysis.
THE biggest question of the moment is when will the embargo be lifted?
And bearing in mind our performances on the pitch, it's the only pertinent question.
As for giving the manager a hard time with difficult questions - that's the job of a journalist.
If it comes down to 'stop asking me the question' the journo has to say the manager will no longer address questions on the embargo.
There again, I take your point that CP should be pushing Ron for an answer.
I've read nowhere the reasons for the prolonged embargo.
Talk about elephant in the room!

The embargo has , and continues to be the main concern for most supporters, and I get that.
But a lot also seem to think the lifting will save us.
Sure , it should help , but Akinola and Hart are having a lot of expectation put on their shoulders

Agree with that, but I see life beyond the two new players if embargo lifted.

I don’t think it’s necessarily expectation on their shoulders. We are losing most weeks because we don’t have enough quality up front or at centre back. The embargo being lifted won’t solve this, but it’s been the thing that’s blocking us from doing anything about this.

But ... if the embargo is lifted ... we could sign a couple more players on top of those 2
Yep. Desperately need a centre back. John White is out of contract in January and injured and Harry Lennon is never fit either. We need an experienced leader to come in and organise the backline.

Yes we do. A couple of experienced CB would be great: similar to when Tilly brought back Spinner & Edwards.
