I think Keith Hill should be fined for gambling on putting the bus driver in goal on saturday.

Maybe thats why Hill was wearing jeans , he looked like he'd just come out of William Hills , probably had a bet with the ref that Gary Lund could commit murder , treason + mass terrorism on the pitch and still not get sent off.

Are you suggesting the ref was in the betting shop with Mr Hill? :'(

Barton has been charged but has until the end of the month to respond to the charge after appealing for more time so no judgement has been decided on him yet by the FA. Ludicrously, Burnley signed him knowing this anyway but assume they have some sturdy get out clauses in his contract.

The Scottish FA, a different organisation entirely, gave him a one match ban in November for offences involving gambling on Rangers but not to such a huge extent.

He should be charged with being Joey Barton.

Think he might need one of these...

Nile had an absolute shocker the other week, when I say shocker it was one of the worst displays from any professional I have ever witnessed.

Within hours of that game the suspension kicked in....I don't think it's betting.

He had a poor game against Sheffield United but hardly one of the worst of all time. He had a better game against Sheffield United than some of our strikers in the early 2000s managed in their entire career.

Indeed. Joey Barton played and scored in the Premier League just a couple of weeks after being banned for placing over 1,200 over ten years.

I was genuinely shocked when I read this! Genuinelyl! ..... I mean, really, Joey Barton scored a goal! :omg:

Surely if he gets an FA ban we won't be able to play him so would sack him on that basis?

Sacking someone is rather a crude instrument - there are other options available. I suspect the club will stand by him ...... make sure he keeps fit and try to steer him along a responsible path ....... but not pay him any wages whilst he is suspended.

I guess he could go and do a bit of gardening leave .. Cash only, of course. .. Certainly not debit card or cheque!

Might have to be careful what he's planting, though! :winking:

Many of us have seen Southend games were a the same standard of performance that Nile gave on Saturday would have won the MOM award.

You clearly never saw Tony Richards, Gordon Connelly or Phil Gridelet then? And Leon Clarke's final appearance away against Doncaster was an embarrassment...
