Very much looking forward to seeing the released/retained list. I don't expect the club to hang around long, they know who they want to keep and release. Makes no sense to wait. Quick and decisive, but respectful to those leaving I hope.

They will know in a few days but we might have to wait a day or so longer.

I'm actually quite glad we finished in 13th as it could be a lucky position,my mates an orient fan and they finished 13th in the national first season and then went up the next! So u never know

Blimey optimism from Steve I never thought I would live long enough to see the day, keep it up new season new optimism ?.

I think some players have been told already - the likes of Phillips, Howard, Mitchell-Nelson etc who haven’t been involved for months. I suspect they were told they might like to find new clubs back in January/February when we had a spate of departures (some permanent/some loan). Some will have chosen to have their contracts paid up (O’Shane Stewart, Harry Seaden), others found new clubs (Ferguson, Walsh), some went on loan (Egbri, Howard, Kinali, Mitchell-Nelson etc)

There was a rumour after one of the bad performances that players had been told they weren’t being retained. These rumours don’t usually come from nowhere. Whilst it was denied, it was only denied for those who were currently involved in the first team squad.

The following have been involved in the first team in recent months

Andeng-Ndi (option)
Demetriou (option)
Davies
Ralph (option)
Clifford
Gard
Bridge (option)
Benton
Atkinson
Oli Coker
White

The following haven’t
Chandler
Howard
Mitchell-Nelson
Coulson
ANG
Kinali
Phillips
Ogogo
Egbri
Akinola
Rush

That’s a lot of conversations to have.

Decisions will need to be taken on the third year scholars as well, although I suspect they have already taken place as their season has ended.

Slightly off topic but Neil Harris was sitting in the front row of the directors box wonder who he was having a look at ?

This is worth giving a thought to in our haste to discard. Some footballers might be far from the best, they're still human beings, though.

Also it is funny how fans demand complete loyalty to the badge at all times, yet are more than happy to shout 'get rid' when those players are surplus to requirements.

Ogogo can go! Has anyone see him play? I know he came from Bristol rovers with a big reputation but he has contributed nothing and I bet hes on a good wage! Time for demitriou to go,his wages can go on a younger better player.

We joked with him asking if he was there for business or pleasure. He said if its for fun he sits in the west. When he is watching players it's in the directors box with other scouts (Matt Harold was in there at the Weymouth game)

He was watching Harrison Neal. Very complementary about how Kacper did when he was here as well

Did you tell him to **** off and keep his grubby mitts to himself?

Certain Neal would come here over the Gills. Very little between L2 and the NL, we are a bigger club, bigger gates and he is well liked by the fan base. Add to mix that it’s was the current management team that bought him to the club I reckon he would come back to us next season but that decision may be out of his hands anyway

Never know Gillingham could do an us and go down again! It only takes bad recruitment for their rebuild and a string of poor performances to find themselves struggling at the bottom, we know that feeling all too well.

Of course I personally can't see it happening with Gillingham but I would've said the same for us (I probably did)

Nice chat with Ron & Tom on Thursday at the incoming Mayor gig. John Still seems to be very well thought of....and rightly so. Find us some diamonds, John!

Hopefully our reputation as a good club to bring on younger and gifted loan players will serve us well amongst the higher leagues. Better to get the hungry ones who are rated highly, than the ones sent out on loan as "last chance" and fighting for any kind of career.

We have a track record of not paying players wages on time. It's not very desirable to join us over Gills. Plus we are non league unless we offer big/more wages you will usually choose football league over non league
