One of our summer trialists, who for some reason Tilly seemed very keen on, has signed for Tranmere and makes his debut in their live Sky game tonight against Stockport.

Lets see if we missed out.

I liked him, he was a little raw but showed potential. Be interested to see what you think if you never saw either of his pre season games.

I didn't understand why we didn't sign him, he was just a good as George Friend, probably better!

Bet he ever looked as good in his undercrackers as Bernie did at Brighton though! Different physique entirely :whistling:

Apart from his decent delivery, I wasn't overly impressed with him and my opinion hasn't changed since the pre-season games I saw him in.

We already have one full back that is often caught out defensively, but can produce moments of quality going forward on one side, we can't afford to have two bad defensive full backs.

I thought it summed up what I thought of him in pre season really. Got forward and overlapped well, but struggled with the basics. I lost count the amount of times he miscontrolled a simple ball, letting it run out of play. He's getting a bit of a slating on another forum I visit. He seemed far too keen on bombing forward and forgetting his defensive positon. He could be really shown up against a counter attacking team with a right winger. Not us then.

Babayoko

Am I correct in assuming that the Babayoko who played left back for Tranmere against Stockport on Mon night was the one who we had on trial!! Didn't look too bad in my opinion - got forward, chased back well and also put in a few good tackles. Maybe a couple of misplaced passes but thast not too unusual for us.
Shut me up if its not the same one.

No idea. Certainly can cross a ball... however, one game means nothing. Anyone who saw Gordon Connelly against Brighton when they put 3 people on him and still couldn't handle him would have said he was a world beater. For the rest of his SUFC career he was little more than an egg beater.

That's pretty harsh on the eggs, fbm.

:thump:

Went on to sign for Leicester from Tranmere and spent some time on loan at Yeovil.

Now signed for Crewe until the end of the season.
