Zone Update Zone Sponsorship

Hi all, I guess we had to change our thoughts as the Internet and all things techy move on.

We in all honesty as site owners have fought change at every obstacle. We always put you our members first at every point in our thinking, but when costs go up we can't keep begging to you to cover them...You are fantastic already and have been for so many years.

We had a dilemma, this was no easy decision believe me. Once again as we grow year on year as a site our database gets bigger and the servers we use no longer cater for something we had last year.

I will never sacrifice our data on price...we have near on 2 mill posts and 90K threads, I want them there for ever for SUFC and us and future fans.

This creates a self made problem for us..It is going to cost us once more big time to expand into a new era....It's no big deal as far as I am concerned. It is what it is.

We have changed though and realise we need now to make things a two way street with our sponsors. It makes sense if we are to grow and survive.

In the near future you will see a new forum called The Zone Sponsors. Our sponsors will be allowed to advertise and promote their companies services in there....Please don't be surprised if you get a welcoming email from them at some point, they are a friendly bunch.

In addition to John's post above I will outline a little about our sponsors, all Southend United fans of many years standing.

Firstly BTMK, local solicitors who deal in many aspects of law and are replacing FWG as main sponsors since fbm's company now works under the BTMK banner. I have known the boss of BTMK for over 50 years and he is a true gent and I would recommend his company to anyone. Alan Bacon welcome.

Outstanding Branding have been supporting the Zone, both financially and supplying us with various promotional items, for many years. They are a company that are expanding, already in New York and Hong Kong in the near future and we wish them well in their expansion. Andy Thorne is a true star for us.

We appreciate the financial help from TravelZone, the transport wing of the Zone who run coaches to all our away games with fun, games, cakes and drinks all included in the fare. Long may they fly up and down the country carrying an ever-increasing number of fans. Paul Marshall.

Finally we come to the new kids on the block First4Mortgages, a local company advising on Mortgages, Protection, Pensions and Investments. They have had ties with SUFC for a while and would like the opportunity to help Zone members with all aspects of finance. I sat near Simon, one of the directors, for years in the South Upper and I am sure he is known to quite a few fans. Simon Ridgewell.
