Where the hell did that come from?! Absolutely delighted. Sadly I cannot spare the nets for him, if I could he'd be on 5 of them. How much would he fetch I wonder, or would it be worth stopping training or 21/22 year olds to accomadate him?

I've managed to spare 3 nets for him currently - 2 bowling and a batting. Have taken off 1 of Deane's (19 year old) bowling net, Lever's bowling net (22 year old who I wanted one more pop off - may not now even though he's half way there) and Street (a superb 21 year old who I was going to skill trade but wont bother now).

Once Davenport pops in stamina I'll change that to a fielding for Rennie too. Does that sound good? Any alternative tips? I may try get another bat on him once Hudson pops again.

Get a stamina net on him as well, get hom to superb and he is top, top notch You lucky, lucky b****** (to quote Life of Brian) :)

He won't be able to play on 4 nets, so you might as well get his Stamina up to superb, that way he'll recover from his other nets a lot quicker.

You have to stick a fielding net in there too or he'll never be a decent bowler. 1 each bat, bowl, field & fitness.

I'm seriously temped to sell this guy:

5. Richard Deane (997183)

RH Batsman, RM Bowler, respectable batting form, superb bowling form, changeable
A steady player with woeful leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: Southend
Nationality: Australia
Age: 19 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 17,699 (+264)
Wages: £4,630 p/w

Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: abysmal
Batting: worthless Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: quality Consistency: proficient
Fielding: woeful

Popped last week, and buy a ready-made bowler with slightly better skills to replace him. Will probably remove his net tomorrow and make it fielding for Rennie, and then perhaps sell him after next week's league game, or as soon as I find a replacement. How much would Deane fetch? At least 4 million I'd have thought?

As a guide Muse, I paid 3.53m for a 20yo Quality / Comp with Comp Stamina and Mediocre Fielding, so I would say 4m minimum for yours.

I pulled this guy, bit of wierd mix really. His base figures must have been Resp W/K, Med Conc, Med Bowling. I nearly went for a batsman as well !! I suppose he would have been Mediocre Batting, Respectable W/K and Conc.

Anton Hitchcock (1312542)

RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, fresh

Plays For: BATTY SHRIMPERS

Bowling: respectable Consistency: mediocre
Fielding: woeful

He's up for sale, current bid is 6k

I looked on the week's most expensive transfers and there was a 19 year old who went for £5 million and looked like similar skills. I mailed the old owner (as I've played him before) and he said he was a quality/superb batsmen with mediocre stamina, so not much difference.

Must be expecting over 4 million for sure. That would give me 6 million to buy a ready made replacement (so nobody of training age) - what could I get for that?

I sold Tselane (who you'll come up against in a couple of weeks !) for 6.2m odd. He was 20yo Remarkable Bat, with Prof or Resp Conc (can't remember which) Respectabls Stamina and Fielding.

So if you look at 22/23 yo bowler, you could probably up the cons a bit so maybe Remarkable / Strong or drop the Primary a level and have much better cons, so something like Quality / Remarkable

Hmm, so nothing would be a huge improvement on what I've got. I'm gonna track this guy's fee to guage an idea as there's no way I'm getting up at 7 on a day off to bid!

Help please all - Is the guy above worth going for? I'd need to have an early bid on my guy Deane tonight from one of you to fund the above player though. The market is really lacking in quality+ bowlers, and most remarkables are listed at stupid prices or are spinners, which I dont want.

The guy above ends tomorrow so urgent advice required, please.

Thanks :o

He looks pretty good. Has taken 5 wickets in 3 games in NZ III, and hasn't gone for more than 36 in a 10 over spell. Superb stamina is probably worth a bit. I'd go up to about 5.5m. How much of a bid do you need, the most I can muster is about 1.25m ?

Seems a decent player to me. Depending on your team needs, he could do a very good job for you. The superb stamina is a bonus, as is the woeful-superb batting (he may be able to hold up an end with that concentration), mediocre fielding and competent experience.

Not sure how big a wicket-taker he'll be, seeing as he's only cautious and fast-medium (although my leading wicket-taker is a cautious fast-bowler). I'd have thought he'd be good at keeping it tight.

I'll need a bid of about 3.5 million on Deane tonight. I have someone else who was interested in him, and I could try ask him to bid 3.5mil too, which would give me around 6 million to buy Brennan.

Can we be for sure he wont go for too much? Cos if I lose Deane without a replacement I'm knackered for Friday, though I'll lose that anyway.

You have 2 choices, either get up early on your day off :p , or put in a bid as late as you can, say 5.5m, and if you get him fine, if not you'll have to buy back the other guy and take the 5% hit. Alternatively, let your sale go through, if your going to lose this week regardless it doesn't really matter, and then you have 10 days to buy a replacement. Something should come up in that time. Personally, I would just put in a bid of the maximum you would pay, if you get him great, if not you haven't got involved in a bidding war and over paid.

I like your thinking! I will do that if I can get 3.5 million for Deane tonight because until then I cant bid at all on Brennan.

Ah, a quality/proficient has just got onto the market for 2 million. That makes things even more awkward.

He has a good record too and is a fast bowler, but wouldnt be much improvement on Deane  Deane is now on the list, but I've put 3.6 million on instead just to give a bit more to play with. Can anyone here bid for him?

Looks like I'll be setting my alarm for 6.55 in the morning :hilarious:
