Yorkshire Blues

FLAVIA

Mr. P.
Stood near the Yorkshire Blues on Sat. Made a lot of noise with the constant chanting of "Yorkshire Blues "etc
Made for a good atmosphere.Had a good laugh too when they sang "meat pie, sausage roll, come on Southend give us a goal"
Seemed to work of course.
Well done lads - hope to see you again - at Barnsley?

Had a good chat with Simon who is chief Yorkshire Blue and a top man as well...Said he was going to Barnsley with more of em and seen em on platform on the way home.

Good Lads and outsing most people on our terrace again.

The Yorkshire Blues are fantastic. How is it that they have discovered a love for the finest football team in the land...?

Pointless.

I met Simon (Chief YB) a while ago, and he told me that he is an exile living and working in Yorkshire, and he dragged a few of his mates along to a couple of away games (Man City and Hull spring to mind) and they caught the bug. Good to see, as we welcome anyone, being a broad church...

Simon's dad comes from Orset and his mum's from Thirsk and she couldn't settle down here, thus they moved up there when Simon was a kid.he told me it's hard to support any one else when your dad's a Shrimper thru and thru.
He still has family around Grays, and stays there when down for a trip to Roots Hall, most of the other Yorkshire Blues are Boro season ticket holders and mates from his factory.
your right when you say he's a top guy but don't forget the Manchester Blues in Clarky and co.

Working in Manchester as I do the guys in the office look for
the Southend result every week. I'm trying to convert them into Southend fans but when they all support Man U it's difficult but I'm working on it.

I've known Simon for donkeys years now, and he's ALWAYS been one of the most vociferous Southend fans.

The "Yorkshire, Yorkshire" chant is to get us all singing "ESSEX, ESSEX, ESSEX" louder and is his way of geeing everyone up and increasing the noise of all of us!

Anyone there Saturday would have seen him walking up and down contantly singing and shouting for the Blues and doing his bit.

One other thing about Simon that i've noticed over the years...I have NEVER heard him slag off any of our players, unlike some!!!!!

Top bloke, saw him at the Blackpool LDV final, and he made a point of coming over to shake hands when he saw us in the traffic at Grimsby after the match.
