No their first goal definitely doesnt look like an own goal. Bentley could have done better with the second goal - it was hit straight at him and was a goal that we would have been furious to concede had Smith been between the sticks.

Agree, just seen the goals and if Smith had conceded that second goal there would be people on here baying for blood.

Why do we kick off so badly? It's something that's frustrated me for a while, what happened to trying to maintain possession and give everyone, including the keeper, a touch of the ball? We lose possession and then get repaid by them scoring a goal - looked poor defending for the 2nd from that clip.

At the game their 2nd goal just looked like a catalogue of errors in defence but seeing it on TV the buck stops with Bentley - that is the kind of shot Smith keeps out in his sleep

Are you serious? It was a pretty hard-hit shot which he reacted well and got his hands to but the strength of the shot took it in. Smith might be able to keep the odd shot like that out in his sleep, but he can't do many of the basics with his eyes open. That makes Bentley the better goalkeeper and I can assure you that the management are of the same opinion.

Yes there probably would, but only because that would be the latest in a very, very long line of "errors", not that I think it was an error anyway no matter which guy was in goal - it was a hard-hit shot and the power took it through to the goal.

Yep serious. We had numerous chances to clear the ball and failed and when the shot came Bentley is the last man and his reaction looked awkward. I've had no imput in the Bentley vs Smith debates as they have different strengths so I don't have a strong opinion either way but whether he comes for crosses or not when a shot is hit from in front of him Smith's reactions tend to keep the ball out. That's all.
