Wycombe

I'd be far more interested in reading about a well established fans' ownership model, rather than one which is in its honeymoon period.

I think Saturday's opponents may be a better case study as the key is sustainability. Wycombe haven't shown that yet.

Not sure it really matters which fans ownership model we follow, when or if it comes to that.

Whether it's a long established one like that at Bournemouth or a new kid on the block's like Rangers.

Unless the Blue Knights(or another consortium) do come in to pick up the pieces after the RM era, we'll need to think about how to take SUFC forward.

What worries me is that I don't think the Trust are best equipped to do this,at the present time.

Anyone got a link to Bournemouths case?
Iirc the fans took over and they went into recievership a couple of years later
Were SUFC fans to consider taking over the club finding out the problems Bournemouth encountered are equally important

We are in one of the most turbulent periods ever, with us not knowing how the club is surviving nor how things may end up.

The trust are no where to be heard, Im not really sure what their purpose is anymore.

That's absolute balderdash. Purpose is the same as it ever was - "to help, not to hinder". Wanna try talking to Ben Clarkson about how much help the Trust have been to him in recent times, or Ricky Duncan?

The only way out of the financial mire is to WIN games, so helping to "shore up" from the bottom in providing support in both the areas highlighted above, is of definite benefit long term.

How has helping Ben Clarkson or Ricky Duncan helped us in any way whatsoever get to the bottom of what is going on with the financial future of the club, how we are going to continue to survive, how the new stadium is going to work, if its going to be built ?

I thought the trust was meant to represent the supporters and if theres a time we need representation its now.

We have been talking about the financial issues for weeks, if not months, and the trust have not made one comment in all of that time.

Sorry OBL but ig just helping the club with the youth is the trusts purpose then its a 'meh' from me.

I agree with your views and I have raised my own concerns on the committee but there are things going on in the background

It's helped us to WIN games, and that's a good start to getting out of the financial trouble. Why do people on the Zone seem to think they have some divine right to know what is going on within the football club, do you know what is going on at Tesco, or Next? No, but I bet you "support" them because you shop there!

It's not the same though. Supporting a football team is NOT the same as buying from a shop.

For a start, it's an emotional investment. A lot of fans support the team because their Dad did, or their friends. I don't buy from Tesco because my Dad took me there one Saturday when I was 8.

It would be nice to know what the Trust are doing.

More important I'd suggest.

They'd be the case studies I'd look at first.

Actually, I'm sure the Trust represents all fans, not just members. :winking:

Well, yes, but if they're not members then they're not really entitled to ask for the Trust to make a statement are they?! :raspberry:
