Windows (not the Micorosft kind) help

MK Shrimper

All,

The windows in my bedroom get very steamy (ooer!) due to condensation, and due to this the rubber seals around the double glazing have gone black with mould. Now can I replace them myself or does this have to be a pro-job? If I can do it myself, what is the rubber stuff - is it similar to the silicon sealant used around baths?

Thanks in advance.

Mk.

So, to summarise. You're having trouble with your bedroom steaming up because of the use of rubber, and you want to know if a pro can help you out?

I think replacing the seal here is the minor issue. What should be more of an issue/concern, is working out what is causing the general condensation build up, and solving that issue

Well I know the house suffers from a bit of damp - having a roof redone in a few weeks that hopefully sorts that out. Maybe have to get a dehumidifier.
