Wiggy's Rating's

wiggy

Darryl's Love Child
Flavs 6 not much to do but thought he looked more alert and confident today.
Francis 7 couple of errors 2nd half but he is a good footballer and makes things happen unlike negative Hunt
Barrett 6 winning very little in the air lately and looks a bit dodgy at times
Clarke 6.5 better than Barrett these days but feel he could still let you down at any minute
Muldew 5 looked extremely suspect at times, massive error for there goal, think it was him
Gower 5 terrible distribution all day
Macca 6.5 excellent goal, got going after half time
Bailey 7 a goal and got going again after the break
Black 8.5 mom. different class on the ball and need him to keep up this rich vein of form especially with Gower in and out
Revell 5 oh dear, if he's worth 150 grand then so is Prince Harry. Pretty rubbish in the air, poor touch and because he's tall we play hoof ball
Barney 5 didn't get into the game at all. Fitness and lack of service to blame
Macdonald 7 i take it all back, looked a class act when he came on, shame about his lack of pace but move over Revell
Scannell 5 just can't believe he is anywhere near the 1st team, keeps running into trouble

Poor effort overall but nicked the 3 points, how Tilson can say we played better in the 1st half is beyond me!

I think it would be easier for me to say which rating i do agree with! Black, bailey, Barrett and thats about it. To say Gower was as good as Revell is offensive to Revell. If Revell was 5 then gower was -5

Francis - true, he makes things happen a bit more than Hunt, but for me the defensive arguement still goes in Hunt's favour.

Mulgrew - don't know where you sit, but for me it looked like it was Barrett's ****-up that was to blame.

Wouldn't have given Gower more than 4, otherwise I'd say quite fair.

Not much I'd disagree with there Wiggles except I think you are a bit harsh on Daryl - he made an excellent punch and generally did everything asked of him correctly . Some of Francis's passing was woeful - Barratt was partly culpable for their goal and we were all saying how ineffective Macca had been when up he popped with a cracker ( which lifted him too)

Think you are also a tad harsh on Barnard - he took alot of stick - mixed it and gave as good as he got with some guys much bigger than him and was generally a handful to the point that one of their players resorted to violence .

We need to give Revell longer to settle in , but if Matty H had played like that today the crowd would have been on his back in seconds

You are obviously one of those that love the 200% effort but very little ability. Well we have already got one of those and to let Hooper out on loan{scored again today} is criminal. Another Tilly bad purchase i'm afraid, even with time he won't find a good touch or time his headers right!

Exactly, a very Prince Harrold type of performance, but we wouldn't get the money for ginger that we paid for Revell!

Don't know how you came up with that view. The ball came across for Mulgrew to clear, he swung and missed and their winger ran in behind him. Nothing Barrett or anyone else can do about that.

I thought that Barrett jumped to try and head it, missed it, and put Mully off.

Happy to be corrected if needs be though.

Correct.

Mulgrew should have cleared it, but yet again we should not have let a ball get across our penalty area like that. The centre-half has got to get his head on a ball like that.

Sorry, I just can't accept that. The ball came into the box at the perfect height and speed to be booted upfield and Mulgrew has completely missed the kick. I'm sorry but in my opinion anyone who is pinning the blame for that goal on anyone else must have an agenda against another player.

I'm terrible at football but had I made a mistake like Mulgrew did for that goal I'd be absolutely gutted about it. It was more basic than even schoolboy stuff.

This is what I thought as well. I don't think Mulgrew expected the ball to come through to him so was unprepared to deal with it - a momentary lapse of concentration. He'll have to learn that he'll need to deal with this kind of thing though. I still think he did ok for a first game and considering his lack of training time and he held the ball up really well at the end.

LB is the position that I play for the Zone - yes, I'd be annoyed with myself for not clearing, but I'd be livid that my CB has let the ball through to me to start with. For me, that's what happened here.

Having seen it again, I can see where you're coming from. I had a pretty perfect view from the Upper and it looked to me at the time that the ball had gone over Barrett and it did go straight at Mulgrew so it looked like his ball to deal with to me.

If Barrett could have reached it (which I'm not convinced he could have done) then he should have done.

Strange how we all see it differently. Looked to me like Barrett was trying to wrestle the bloke to ground rather than try and head the ball. Dare I say t but maybe Richards would have dealt with it better.

Mulgrew was shocking yesterday defensivley. Watching him in the first half from the West Stand, he continually missed headers and was on the wrong side of his man far too much. I fear he will be a weak link against better teams, ditto Francis who was garbage.

I agree that Francis is better going forward than Hunt however his errors were complete howlers. Passing from right back directly to the opposition will certainly make things happen!

Surely the first job of defender is to defend and Hunt is far more solid than Francis.
