Wiggy's ratings!

Darryl's Love Child
Flavs 6 nothing to do but for picking the ball out the net, left exposed again.
Hammel 5 no better than Che except free kicks
Hunt 5 another square ball merchant and pretty paceless
Barratt 6 still does a job but not as dominant in this league
Sodje 9 m.o.m great performance, shame it don't rub off
Clarke 2 oh dear, even worse in midfield than defence, another Tilly bad buy, time won't improve this one
Francis 5 not the answer on the right
Gower 7 couple of decent runs, looked up for it 1st half
Harrold 6 decent movement but still not strong enough
Freddy 8 class act, deserves better, only a matter of time
Maher 5 not one of his best, didn't take control and too many loopers, just what we don't need
Gutts 7 special mention for my pet hate, when he came on it was a revelation compared to Clarke, got involved straight away, however now is the time to give Jay Smith a go.

Don't quite agree. Yes he was woeful tonight, but he's not a midfielder, clearly. He's got good pedigree and from what he's done just before signing for us, clearly a good defender.

Why not play him alongside the dominant Sodje and see how he does.

Nice to see you admit Luke did ok though.

How badly? And why didn't I hear of him going to them on trial? Don't let him go. I think we need to give him a shot.

If you go on the Notts County site you'll see. "Surplus to requirements".

He's not good enough to be brutally honest and if Moussa is outshining him in the reserves then he deserves the chance ahead of Jay.

Its on the BBC website.

Tilly sees Smith every day in training and has given him chance after chance in friendlies and the reserves and he's never done enough. Which is a crying shame as he could have been a real player.

To be fair, after three horific injuries, I think he's probably lost the bottle.

Despite everything, Wiggy is right - I agree with all the ratings (except Flahavan - OK he conceded 3 goals but they all whizzed past him).

Pretty fair ratings. Clarke 2 is harsh, maybe a 4.

3 goals conceded-again. Part down to defending and part down to that fickle whore lady luck who has chosen to grace layer road and leave us to misery and torment. I agree with putting Clarke alongside Sodje. Barrett is lacking but I would give him a chance in midfield. I am sure he would be better suited to the change of role than Clarke. For me though it is not just the goals conceded that is to blame. Although we created as many chances as Hull and more, too few were on target and Eastwood is as much to blame as anyone. What hope have we if the chances we get are not even testing the keeper. Its a rarity that an opposition keeper is responsible for us losing. They don't even have to play that well against us. I know this division is not route one football but I also believe we are guilty of trying to play one pass too many. A slightly simplified and direct approach could be of benefit. No need to panic though. We are going to stay up and will finish in or near the play-offs. It will all turn out right.

fair ratings Wiggy, but how about Prior in for next to Sodje. He has higher level experience, can head the ball and will bring a bit of leadership to the side. We all love Barrett for his commitment and enthusiam but maybe its time to give him a rest

Flahavan 6 is rather generous. For someone who is in the team on the basis that he is a better than average shot stopper, you'd have thought he might have done better on at least one of the goals. His ponderous distribution was also poor - I can see him getting booked for timewasting when we are losing one of these days.

Sodje 9 is also generous. Not faulting his defending, but if his distribution was better we wouldn't have had to do nearly as much defending. Yes, i know he set up Freddy's goal with a good pass, but the number of times he picked out a Hull player with a clearance was alarming. He'd have been better off putting it in the stands.

No rating for the other sub Hopper? I know he didn't touch the ball, but he was on the pitch long enough to merit a rating.
