Perhaps I missed something as I have been away but why no Bart on the bench??
For the benefit of The General: The Gastrocnemius is the calf muscle that is visible from the outside of the body. It attaches to the heel with the Achilles Tendon and originates behind the knee on the femur, crossing two joints. Its purpose is to elevate the heel ("plantar flexion"). The Gastrocnemius has two heads: the medial and the lateral. When fully developed, these two heads appear to form a diamond shape. The Soleus is not visible when looking at the body from the outside as it lies underneath the Gastrocnemius on the rear of the lower leg. The Soleus is most active when doing calf exercises where the knee is bent, such as seated calf raises. Its purpose is exactly the same; to raise the heel. The only difference is that it works in a different position, i.e. with the knee bent.[b said:Quote[/b] (The General @ Aug. 21 2005,14:29)]Another thread says that he picked up a calf (?!) injury on Thursday at training ...

Perhaps Tilson wanted to give himself more options with regard to the other subs.
With the slight risk of Darryl going off injured, Benno could go in goal.
Surely the best group of players on the bench for many a year...
