Why lock the 'well done'' topic?

Why lock that topic at such an early stage? It's not terribly unpleasant and I would have appreciated an opportunity to respond to the Upper South chap,he asked me three questions.

There's been alot worse on here but it's a judegement call by Leeboy and I won't attempt to continue it via another thread but do request that it be unlocked.

I am suffering from 'smalclubitis' and desperately need help so please unlock it!

I have to say I thought that the Spurs fan's post was entirely genuine and not in the least bit patronising or condescending.

The fact that some people read it that way says more about them than the Spurs fan IMO. That's not a criticism either per se - you could probably just put it down to disappointment.

However, I think it's fair to say that the following are true:

1) We are the smaller of the two clubs
2) It was a big cup night for us, the like of which has come up rarely in our history
3) Any result at all would have been a 'shock', not only given the difference in size and resources of the two clubs, or the fact that they are in a higher league - but because on top of all that they have an excellent recent home form and we have a terrible away record this season.

He came in peace and was gracious in victory. Its churlish to say 'its easy to be gracious in victory - would you have been so had you lost' because, well, the fact is they won. Surely we arent sugesting that because they won he shouldnt be posting no this board? How do we know what this guy would be like if they lost?

As for the snidey remarks about Arsenal being a big club etc., they're plain uncalled for in my opinion.

He's been gracious in victory. I'm afraid some comments on that last thread were ungracious in defeat.

I'm also wondering why it was locked, i have a strong dislike for Spurs but the guy posting was just being honest and telling it how it is IMO, dont see whats wrong with that

To be honest It would sometimes appear that the Mods on here speculate as to whats coming next at times.
I would have preferred to have seen the topic left open.

I locked it because, IMO, it was going nowhere - a bit like this one.

If this one gets locked will we have another thread entitled ' why lock the topic about the locked topic' ?
