Why does Tilson stay?

rlb999

We want 4 stands!
This is what gets me. The bloke is on an absolute hiding to nothing. He'll be scrabbling around with 48 hours to go before the season kicks off, trying to patch a team together from whatever's left when Ebbsfleet or Crawley have had their pick, plus loaning a couple of seventeen year olds in from Watford who aren't too bothered about being paid. He might love the Blues, but surely he's not up for that?

Tilson stays simply because a job that occasionally pays is better than no job. The club can't afford to pay him off should they want to sack him (as i was lead to believe RM was considering when he sacked Brush). He has applied for numerous other jobs over the past 3 years and i'm sure he will continue to do so, when he gets an offer i'm sure he'll be off and who can blame him. The bloke is a legend and the under the conditions which he does his job at the moment he has little to lose by being here.

cos he wouldnt get a job elsewhere, unless he has a star player playing below his level to make his tactics look good, ie eastwood!!!

He holds one of only 92 football manager jobs in a country of 50 million

Even being manager of a club with the problems ours has is pretty prestigous and whilst Im sure if there was another club interested he would think of going he still isnt in a bad position.

If Tilson walked out he would have no guarantee of a job and 10 others would line up to take his place.

Im sure he is just hoping that the club sorts its act out but Id be shocked if he wasnt considering other options.

i really don't know why he puts up with it. don't get me wrong i am glad he does but seriously how much can the man take. job or no job to move onto.

Mortgage to pay, ex-wife and kids? Plenty of people do far worse jobs for a lot less. Tilson is probably thanking his lucky stars that he wasn't sacked when we were relegated out of the Championship, let alone into League Two.

I don't know about that. His CV looked a whole lot better two years ago. And that, I suspect, is the main reason he is still here.

You can count the number of chairmen on one finger who would not have sacked their manager when the team languish in the lower reaches of any division. Ron may be many things, but like the majority of Shrimpers, he recognises that Tilly is our best ever manager and sacking him would be madness.

Trust me, Ron does not rate Tilly!

The only thing stopping RM from sacking Tilly is that he knows it would be the final nail in his coffin, the last straw as far as the majority of supporters are concerned. Why not just make his position untenable by alienating and transfer listing all your best players and not allowing them to be replaced due to a transfer embargo and zero funds being available. But then again he'd never do that would he...........

correct sir

News flash, no one rates Ron and id take a 1000 Tilly's over that buffoned egotistic odious little blunt.

If Tilly gets the brush off by Ron, not only will i not attend another match while that dwarf is in charge , but i cancel my season card direct debit and pop to daggers.

That for me would be the final straw and im guessing there are alot of people who would do the same.

What Ron is doing to this club is like finding out that a loved one is sick and slowly dieing or at least that is how it feels to me at the mo.

Something has to change and fast as we cannot survive another season like the last and thats a fact.
