Why does our Club Shop have no stock?

Sherif H

Omar's older brother
So, list of things you can't currently buy on our online store:

1 - ANY replica shirts
2 - Hats
3 - Scarves
4 - T-shirts
5 - Mugs/glasses

That is genuinely shocking - will add to the feedback list, but won't hold my breath given the well documented limitations of this arrangement with Macron.

Seems like a glaring lose of income particularity this time of year.
Sorry, not followed the Macron issues, but that must only apply to replica kits, right? Not scarfs, mugs, key rings, causal wear and all the other bits and bobs easily branded with the club logo?
Lets go retro and get those rear car window kits again!

I understand shirts having contract issues with Macron and them not wanting to produce more than we will sell but what I don't get is why they don't have just more general merchandise, water bottles, keyrings, bedding etc etc. I have a seven year old boy who would want all of it, especially this time of year, if they had it. Such a shame for the kids.

We need to reach out to a company called The Terrace, someone I’ve been banging the drum for for a few years.

https://theterracestore.com/

They run a few football league club shops, Exeter, Bristol Rovers, Morecombe to name a few.

That do all the crap we, and our kids/grandchildren, would want. Pint glasses, leisure wear, souvenirs etc.

The whole kids range needs to be addressed too. I have a four year old, be 5 in January, and a one year old, and I’ve never managed to get either of them a kit that has properly fitted. My eldest loves pens and keyrings at the moment, so I’d be getting them for Christmas. Bibs that say “Southend United’s best dribbler”, baby grows, little footballs anything like that. A whole Christmas range, a calendar, advent calendar etc. if I could, I’d spend a fortune on my boys at Roots Hall.

We should also have a section where we sell old programmes, like we used too. We have some fantastic fans that do photography, painting, writing etc that should be able to sell their work.

Former players/managers etc autobiographies should be available in there.

Just need to think outside the box a bit, and that’s not even touching on the replica kit range…

I think it is actually quite shocking and doesn’t say a lot about the club.
How can we get the next generation involved if we have no merchandise to promote a local team.
My 5 yr old nephew has started coming and has recently started playing football but I can’t buy him anything for Xmas as there is nothing there to buy.

I recall going into the shop and being able to buy lots of different things and I still have some but not now.
If Macron can’t fill the space in the shop then why doesn’t the club sublet some space in there for the independent person to sell some of their items

Macrons another matter ,

But anyone can spend an hour on ebay and get masses of custom branded tat to sell to punters at a good markup,

Or contact a few local companies.

Its beyond slack, and quite absurd for a company thats desperately trying to make money.

Absolutely agree, not just presents to give to younger supporters but some of them would probably like to buy their Dad, Mum, siblings, something for Christmas, a mug, scarf, gloves, badge, coaster - we are really missing out here. These youngsters are the future supporters of our Club.

I don’t know if we maybe felt like we owed something to Macron after a turbulent few years and unpaid bills etc, but the shop has been getting worse and declining for a while now! It feels like a massive revenue we are losing!

I take your points raised here, many of these things were available in the shop under Nike....I certainly bought a baby grow for our eldest grandson, Maxwell, along the lines of Southend United's greatest dribbler. He's now coming up to 11.

We do have many of these things available for bargain prices at the Trust online shop of course  https://www.shrimperstrust.co.uk/trust-shop/

...but I will take this up with Tom and Rylee again.
