Who else is in the pipeline

Lockwood would be a very good signing, but I doubt Orient would let him go, especially not to us...

Wouldn't that depend on how long is left on his contract? If it is up in the summer, then they might want to get a few thousand for him now rather than let him walk in three months.

Isn't he contracted til the end of next season at Orient? IMHO it will be a striker anyway. Lockwood may well be an option for the summer.

Lockwood would be keen to join us - not far from Root-Hall & take 5 mins drive to training ground from his house, given the choice, I would join an high flying 'Local' club rather than staying in mid-table in East London for many years to come and traffic all the way on A127 back home after training .... who want that - I would'nt!.

Has Lockwood left when he had an chance 7 or 8 years ago, he would be in Premier$hite or Championship by now.

He not only good at defencing, he can take free kick, corner & Pens - its be nice to have another option.

I reckon Tilson is looking for an striker on loans.

I heard somewhere from an O's fan that Lockwood was out of favour with the club and the fans! I am sure that he would come here given half a chance

I've been led to believe that one of the players spoken to (or at least their agent) was Neil Harris, ex of Millwall, now of Nottingham Forest, but out of a side sliding towards League 1 - and, of course, another local lad. Perhaps we're convincing him that next season we'll be competing in the same division!

If there is substance to this, though, it appears that Tilly and Brush are specifically looking for local lads and boyhood Shrimpers fans to turn out for us, thus guaranteeing pride in thie shirt. This is to be greatly commended.

Good point. Remember that one at the start of the season. Plus Forest are actively looking for a striker at the moment which seems to indicate Harris will only be there for a short period ...

Whilst I'd love to see it happen (and if Harris' comments in the Echo are anything to go by) I really doubt we'd be able to afford or even get close to his wages. Maybe it will happen in the future as he's a Blues fan and a great striker but I really can't see it.

Theres been a few Lockwood rumours recently. If we had lined up a deal for the summer, maybe Tilly is now looking to see if it can be brought forward to now.

I'd expect us to get a striker though. Doubt it will be Neil Harris though. We're surely looking for a no.4 striker & I can't see someone like Harris dropping down to this level just to warm the bench.

I feel Eastwood will move on, maybe staying one more season, so Tilly has to look to the future. Dudfield could do a very good job for some seasons to come and I dont think we have seen the best of Gray yet. Gray could be the unearthed diamond with a little more experience and nous. It still suggests the need for more and I still feel an addition would be an asset if he had height. But what the heck? The Blues are on the up and I am sure Tilly will find the pieces for the jigsaw.
