Blue tinted optimist⭐🦐
Since the collapse of the SZ forum last week and the subsequent 4 day absence, two other boards popped up to serve the sufc gossipmongers who need their daily fix of Blues related news.
Having three boards is too much. We really want just the one. I've posted this on all three boards so that everyone gets a chance of seeing it.
Here's my take on the 3 boards and sites..
Shrimperzone - Fans Forum is definitely the most used and is really what the site is all about... the community. We are all there for a purpose and even though you don't get to meet many Zoners face to face (well, I don't - apart from the ones you know of course) there is a real kindred spirit and you feel like you do actually know the on-line persona. There is now an obvious link between SZ and the club with McScriven being the media editor and the fact that the match programme (which, this year, I think is fantastic) is written partly by Zoners. The fact that the main pages are updated so infrequently show me that most Zoners only look at the forum.
Official site's forum - I mainly visit the offical site for news. That said, the forum looks pretty good! Space is unlikely to be an issue so the crashing we sometimes encounter on the Zone probably won't occur. However, I am a little concerned that if the club don't like some of the stuff posted they could simply shut it down.
Shrimpers on-line - Hmm... not sure. The other sites LOOK more professional and I get the impression that if traffic did increase substantially then they would suffer in the same way that the zone has done.
So... my preference is the zone.
