Where was Laurent?

Ayrshire Blue

The Custard Splat
Anyone know where Laurent was today ? Injured ?

Left completely out of the squad, or does he really need Christophe that badly for him to perform.

As I came in to the ground , circa 14:10, I followed Christophe, who was met by Laurent. He had his kit bag and obligatory man bag and Christophe pointed him towards his car. My assumption from this is that Laurent was left out...simply turned up and wasn't in the 16. With Barnard and Dougie now fit, I guess the other strikers are going to face this from time to time. Personally, I would have liked to see Laurent on the bench at the expense of someone...but who I don't know.

I would actually have had him on the pitch alongside Dougie instead of Revell. Both Revell and Dougie like to drop deep to get the ball and so at times that can leave us with no one in the box up top. Obviously Barney's the best solution to this but as he is just returning from injury I would have gone for FL personally.

It was nice to see an improved defensive display yesterday and get a much needed 3 points but lets not forget we hardly opened up Northampton and it took a last gasp set piece to win it.

Getting Christophe back after new year should add some much needed steel to the midfield and hopefully we'll keep possession more and create a few more chances.

Flicking through newsnow, they announce that Laurent missed the match against Northampton due to illness and, for the same reason, is unlikely to feature against MKD tomorrow.
Interesting to note that Di Matteo is claiming to have sleepness nights due to his teams injury problems and the fact that they don't have a big squad. He doesn't actually say that they're down to bare bones but I suppose that may be down to the fact that he doesn't quite have the same grasp of the English Language as Tilly.

Won away at Bristol Rovers though, and on that form compared with our result down there, we could be in for a difficult afternoon in Bucks on Sunday.

But at least his players turn up with their socks

Have to admit that they look pretty hot at the moment and I suppose one searches desperately for something to give us hope in a match where we appear unlikely to get anything.
However, how about this? MKD lost at home, earlier in the month, against Scunthorpe..........and going further back, to October, they again lost at home to Stockport. So, HEY!..........they have a problem at home against teams starting with S!..............perhaps it will continue tomorrow???........
Sometimes I can be the eternal optimist!

Just spoken to Christophe and he has confirmed that Laurent was not including in the squad because he is ill. He has a chest infection.
