Will any of it go to PB's battleplan? Are we two weeks into the transfer window waiting for DB to be sold to secure further bodies in? I know PB said we do not have to sell but he speaks with a forked tongue on most things. 4-600,000 for me.

If Matt Grimes goes for >£1m then Bentley should be above this.

Not a goalkeeper though.

Different positions hold different values.

Not a lot Id imagine, and who would you spend it on anyway?

If you are talking strikers you are going to struggle to attract anyone to League Two even if you have any money.

I personally always value a goalkeeper. It's the one position on the pitch where you need an excellent player. Look at someone like De Gea for Man U this year.

Will admit though that Swansea have money to spend, Bristol City and Brentford etc. may not.

I would guess initially about 700k spread over a couple of years (some of this could have an appearance component), with club performance-related add-ons and a sell-on.

I agree its unlikely to go to transfer budget, forking out for a player, but it might be deemed necessary in terms of wages, agent/signing on fee etc.

Can I change my vote from 600k-800k to 1 million please. I just got a heads up from THE SEVENTIES NORTH BANK on another thread that Bentley won't go for less than a million with add-ons. That's good enough for me:thumbsup:

We've just had a thread recently on this but without a poll haven't we? I'm pretty sure I said 1.2m on there.

I think he will go for nothing. zero . zip . zilch .

I fear another Simon Royce situation .... We turn down a £1 mio , then understandably the player , egged on by his frustrated agent , gets disillusioned that he wasnt allowed to triple his wages/ play at a higher level ...... loses form + his mojo. . . . gets upset that the Smith's are then ahead of him in the team and runs his contract out before moving for nothing . zero . zip . zilch .

every player has his price. I've said it before most players are much of a muchness with confidence being the difference between a good player and an excellent player. When a player is valued high , a team like ours needs to make sure we take advantage and to avoid another "Roycie" at all costs.

I think you are being just a little bit too cynical here Danbury. He will definitely go, it's just a question of how much we get for him.

That's a bit unfair on Royce. IIRC Royce agreed a new deal with John Adams whilst Vic was on holiday. Vic came home and reneged on the deal saying it was too much. If I were Royce I'd be unhappy too.

Vardy, Grimes, Andre Gray and Luke James are all notable League 2 or lower who have fetched huge fees. Kane went for £250k and we're talking about a far more matured and clearly talented individual.

Not goal keepers though.

Strikers always go for more. Luke James is a striker who only went for 750k.
