Always think Pizza's are a bit expensive when you look at the cost to make them compared to say a Chinese.

Possibly. But you get all the food groups:

Dairy - the cheese
Bread - the base
Fruit - the tomato sauce
Meat - pepperoni/ham/meat of questionable origin
Veg - mushrooms/peppers/etc

Well that's how I try to justify it anyway

Have you seen what goes on behind the scenes of your average local Chinese?

All cooked, refrigerated and then reheated. More than enough to give you the squits or a dose of the screaming ab dabs:D

KFC mixed bucket for me thanks

So do I.

Let's be honest, they are nothing more than a flash bit of cheese on toast topped with vegetables and/or mystery meat.

Funny that - it's just how Mr Blue Missy tries to justify it - almost the exact same words!

For me, definately an Indian convert - with Chinese taking a very close second place.

I cannot believe no one as mentioned Thai, the best food that has come from the Orient, not swimming in oil, nor full of MSG.

Give me a Jungle Curry or Gaeng Phet Pet Yang or even Pla Raad Prik with Pad Thai. Yumm

Good call. I went to a Thai restaurant in Perth a few weeks back, my first taste of Thai cuisine, and I was an instant convert - it was superb!

PS Though I was a little suprised to find that deep-fried Ice-Cream is apparently a Thai delicacy...

Not exactly renowned for Takeaway food though. I can't think of many in Southend - in fact I can't even think of one.

totaly agree

and nice piece of cod.. chips BQ sauce..

mmmmmmmm

only 2 weeks 2 wait!

I'd rather eat out than have a takeaway, as the food is normally better from a restaurant rather than from a takeaway. In fact I had a pretty decent meal in a Lebanese restaurant last night. Don't often eat in Southend, but the Thai in Hamlet Court Rd is alright. Like Bob C said duck curry is the future.

Obviously after a night on the beers the only possible food option is the mighty donor kebab with extra chilli sauce. Mmmmm.

What restaurant?

I'm a big fan of Lebanese.

Can't remember its name, but I expect its a bit out of your way as its in Bow.

If you are still interested I can look it up for you.

There use to be a Lebanese along Leigh road, just up from Chalkwell Station. Never ate there, so no idea if it was any good. In fact I can't remember if its still there, or if its been turned into a beauty salon like most of the rest of leigh Broadway.
